Mine are old, and I noticed when I push ear cups to ears sound is better better mids and bass. Is that the difference with new pads as well? I am cheap and wondering what difference it will really make.

Im not sure if covering the whole driver wont make the sound seem veiled. I think increase the size till it is enough attenuation. extra foam may or may not help, but I think its pretty acoustically transparent.   I have the 600OHM, and not sure if they sound different, but  am also 43 and...

I have read someone removed the foam and placed a small piece of tissue under it, and experimented with layers and size till he got the upper octave(s) in question softened or to his/her liking.

@dw123 I think the premiums I have could be a little tighter and be fine still. The force seems even to me. I am a person that get headaches easily, and these dont do it to me even after hours.

I got a used cMoyBB on eBay, and a newLIttle Bear P-1 (from China) hybrid tube amp. Of the 2 the Little Bear is more powerful, but the Cmoy sounds better. I dont have experience with other amps. I think the Cmoy actually powers it really well with the OPA2227 inside it.

I dint think I would go that high anyway, but the choice was up to 12V or up to 25V for the step ups. Although even at 12-18V I could use a few 3.7V in series for higher Voltage.

I grabbed the 900mAH with protection and a charger. I am going to go with the adjustable step up that goes to 25v, since the caps are all 40v and 50v rated
