Review: Sensaphonics Custom Sleeves in Crystal Blue for the Shure SE846

That's weird that these are newly released.  The audiophile fairies must have tipped you that I'd be placing an order soon.   Just checking in as with others here.  I've dumped my last earphone company, Ultimate Ears, after a 10-year *tumultuous* relationship.  I'm looking for a new love with...

JazzyMac's UE-5c Review (Long and Incomplete)

Logged in to this forum after YEARS, just to comment my continued frustration with Ultimate Ears.   This is like a so-so one night stand that ended up with a baby, and now has turned into the worst relationship ever.     Maybe once the baby's turned 18....   Since I got these earphones, I...

Lookin to Pick Up Some Custom IEMs, But Need Some Help First

Actually, there probably haven't been complaints because no one wants to embarass themselves by saying earphones that they paid out the ***** for is messing up. That said, I haven't even had mine a year and the phones have already chipped. Psyching myself up to call customer service. They are...

Upgrade to UE-5C from Westone UM2?

Plus one for custom UEs...watch out for their customer service though!

    Isolation on customs?

With the correct fit of custom ear molds, you should get about 95% of the isolation then with non-custom tips. I guess I can say that the seal was great, the isolation was good, but the sound of the music to me sounded the same if I would have had the same seal with the non-custom phones.

Ultimate Ears UE-5c: Are they supposed to be so tight?

Ultimate Ears UE-5c: Are they supposed to be so tight?

For $500 plus custom earphones, there should be NO SPOTS WHATSOEVER. I think that customers give way too much credit to UE and end up not 100% satisfied. If your ear impressions did not hurt your ears, then the earphones shouldn't either. Send them back right away so you can get them in time...

    Budget (~$100) IEM's for techno & gym?

I guess with all the threads, for the most part there is a common consensus, and then you have to use your own sound judgement for anything else. For instance, with E2C, most would agree that it's bigger than normal IEMs. However, some like it and some don't. With UE.fiEB, most agree...

    Budget (~$100) IEM's for techno & gym?

Funny, during my searches for items, I never post a "what's right for me" thread unless there was nothing before! Gracious. Bassy? I've heard of the UE Super.fi EBs are extremely bassy. UM1s are very comfortable. Research for crying out loud.

The Headphone Addiction | Why does it happen?

I first started my collection getting a headphone for every activity. One for the gym, one for travelling, one for listening at home. I don't even listen at home. Now that I've got the customs, my next venture is to get my deejaying rig going and keep the upgrades around that hobby. I...

JazzyMac's UE-5c Review (Long and Incomplete)

Received another package at my door this evening from Ultimate Ears. Seems MtotheDeez hooked me up with the much coveted T-SHIRTS, lanyards, and earplugs. Very nice.

    decent IEM's for the gym?

I can probably also answer this from a custom viewpoint. As long as the original fit of the custom phones are good, then you shouldn't have a problem with sweat. During my runs (so far), even adjusting the phones with sweat didn't break the seals.

Ultimate Ears 5EB vs. Etymotic ER-6i for airline travel

I'm surprised that you have been on this forum for five years, but don't know that the Ety's are not for bassheads. I have heard the UE EBs are good for bassheads, but not as comfortable. I would suggest the UM1s for great all around sound or E4Cs for wonderful all around sound.
