Returning Sony MDR-7506, and replacing with Beyerdynamic DT 880 Pro - Should I?
If you're not running an amp, you may want to get lower impedance cans. The sonys are about 60 ohm (I think) but are really sensitive. Beyer 250s are much harder to drive (properly). I'd keep both. I love having the MDR-V6 (sealed, flat) and DT990 pro 250 (fully open, colored, comfortable). DT...- qwick

Amp Recommendation, couple of basic questions.
Absolutely better than onboard. I notice a huge difference between it and my Lenovo W520 (Conexant onboard) and iPhone 4. I haven't heard E07K. It appears to have 2 outputs which is handy. The E17 has optical/coax input while the E07K does not. I *think* E17 has slightly more power to drive...- qwick

Amp Recommendation, couple of basic questions.
Check out fiio e17. Lots of features and turns my cheapo Aksent iems into something decent sounding (with some eq). Just a tad north of $100 in canada but it's portable, looks great, and sounds decent for the price. Reading great things about async hifimediy sabre unit. Might be worth a shot...- qwick

Returning Sony MDR-7506, and replacing with Beyerdynamic DT 880 Pro - Should I?
MDR-V6 + Fiio E17 is one of my combos. Very flat/analytical and very revealing of noise. Was able to tell the fiio was having slight jitter problems and resolved via WASAPI. I hear the 7506 is even better for editing. DT-990 Pro 250s are fun, comfortable, and have better separation but nowhere...- qwick

Magnetic fields influence the brain
Thankfully these radio signals are non ionizing (they don't break DNA chains) so they're not cancer causing. They only cause localized heating like a microwave oven set really low. The most significant source is your cell against your ear. Inverse square law! Much of the cell heat is from the...- qwick

Magnetic fields influence the brain
There is an electro magnet in the driver pushing/pulling away/toward the magnet. The magnet is static but the coil is AC and can dip down to the top of that range no problem. The difference is intensity and distance. I assume headphones are not producing a field quite powerful and/or close...- qwick

Fun tube for dt990 pro 250
Have MDR-V6, Aksent IEMs, DT990 Pro 250ohm, Fiio E17, MUSE PCM 2704 USB-S/PDIF. Not worried about mdrv6 or IEMs. They work well with the Fiio. Need a good desk unit to pair well with DT990s, fun sounding, and maybe bring out some staging. Tube rolling sounds fun (here's my wallet!). I don't...- qwick

good for low Impedance cans: Aune T1 VS. LD I+ VS. Schiit Vali
Analog squared looks amazing! But it's in another ballpark in terms of price... (700-1000 USD made to order)- qwick

good for low Impedance cans: Aune T1 VS. LD I+ VS. Schiit Vali
Aune T1 is tube DAC and SS amp. Can be used as just a USB DAC or just an amp (RCA inputs/outputs). Unfortunately I can't comment regarding sound.- qwick
