     I bought this cable from Amazon for my Fiio 2nd gen, and it works perfectly for me.

  It does run warmer to my touch, but that's also probably because I tend to have it in my pocket, or in the fabric case I bought to put it in.  I don't notice any more battery drain than before.

   The only time it starts from the home screen for me is after I've done an update, otherwise it starts up from where I've left off.  The random thing I've seen mostly if I use the player categories; in playlists I've made with Foobar, it doesn't seem to be as much of an issue.

      Actually, I figured out where it was coming from anyway; what looked like gibberish in some of those extended tags had the extra genres.  That was why I was so confused, I thought I'd gotten them all.  A mass cull with extreme prejudice finally did it.
