i use my AKG K301 Xtra straight from my PC. only thing i can say they slightly lack in bass else they're very good; they're sound neutral and honest, very little veil if any.

when itunes was first installed i didn't have this problem. hadn't used itunes for awhile since i had foobar installed. now, only itunes has this issue of scratchy/choppy sound while foobar, winamp, real player and windows media player don't. quicktime seems to have same issue also checked...

should try Shek H1 Usb DAC/Amp Combo. I used it with K701/DT990 cans and it drove them beautifully, more than enough power before your ears would beg you to stop turning the dial knob. Beautiful sound also.

I've just sold my trusty Sony CDP () and now using an el cheapo DVD Player as a transport connecting to my Paradisea DAC. In the DVD Digital Setup Menu, is it better to use Digital -> PCM or Bitstream? thanks.

chipotle, glad u got the k701. g-lite definitely a good amp for k701, though i'm biased as i prefer Headamp's sound signature. but i think amp like ck2iii would be better as it has a fatter sound signature to compensate thinness(mo) of k701 sound signature. u may also want to try shek h1...

get the zhaolu 2.5 on the sale forum now. it's probably the best dac for the money at your specified budget.

towert7, next step, you need to do compare your havana to the popular dacs such as lavry da10 and benchmark dac1.

i'm running my sb3 via coaxial out to an outboard dac. i'm happy with result.

how much does this dAC cost include shipping to usa? from what i can tell the layout looks pretty much like the paradisea. what are the differences? any jitter spec?
