    What's wrong with the stock cable? I've read the review, the linear resistance being high (I am an electrician so I get it), but it just sounds fine to me.

    Well, tone controls are banished from this house, and I do not like too much bass anyway. They give me headaches. That is, except for the organ in the church! :D So I am happy as it is.

    For that kind of sound, you should try Dr Dre's Beats Pro headphones, which sound really great. But of course they will be rather dreadful on anything else... Just my pennyworth.
