Help me understand quickly, why do I want these? I'm sure I do, but I am not sure why.

Since most people are guessing, and a few have their strategy, I thought I would share mine.    Originally, I was going to collect everyone's guesses and make mine on the last day based off of averages, gaps, etc. So far, I have 730 guesses in about 18hrs, and no desire to keep collecting...

I picked up my pair 3 days after Christmas at a tjmaxx near me. I have checked back a few times and tdk products don't seem to be arriving anymore. I still haven't given up but I am not optimistic.

Has anyone had a pair of BA200s reshelled? I was considering this with inearz. Any thoughts on what it would do to the sound.

I just realized I am following a forum that has people who have so many headphones they need excel to keep track... you people are bad influences.   On that note, time to shop for a set of custom IEMs... I hate you all. 

I choose the M80s when I was looking for an on ear option. Their build is great. I use them to travel and the hard case was great. Also, the boom mic option is great for gaming.

I didn't find the M80s to have that much improvement. The dac likely helped the most. The M80s were my first real pair of decent headphones but I agree that before the E18 really makes a difference you will need to update your headphones.

A few pages back people are discussing driving these. I just picked up a fiio e18. That shows a headphone impedance range of 16-150 ohms. I would imagine that this could comfortably drive the HD 598 right?

I have had these for about a month. I did find the bass was very lacking. Complies did help. The biggest help was using a warm amp. It helped the bass while maintaining clarity.
