The Official Beyerdynamic T1 Impressions and Discussion Thread
Hello! About a year ago I bought my T1 to play with Bottlehead Crack OTL amp. I wished to build Crack and was in search for a good pair of headphones to match with this OTL. At that time I had a Schiit Modi/Magni combo and thought Modi would be enough for my system. So currently I run my...- dreame77

Crack;Bottlehead OTL
Hello everyone! For about a year I am happy with Beyerdynamic T1 on Bottlehead Crack!!! Thanks to everyone who suggested me to buy T1 for Crack! Although recently I feel the amount and impact of bass for me is not enough. I wander will Speedball Upgrade fix it? And... what do you...- dreame77

Crack;Bottlehead OTL
I guess I will wait for a week or so, to become familiar with pure Crack sound. After that would install Speedball Upgrade. Hope to hear the same level of improvement as in case Magni->Crack =) By the way, is there anything from Bottlehead to upgrade from Schiit Modi?- dreame77

Crack;Bottlehead OTL
To make it clear. The last phrase I wrote comparing change of sound after moving from Magni to Crack. Mids and highs changed a lot in a good way, but bass changed not to the same extent.- dreame77

Crack;Bottlehead OTL
Thank you, now I get it! Why do I liked D600 with Crack -- it has much less prominent bass, healing overall balance. But T1 with Crack is just awesome. The sound is stunning, I could not stop listening. May be it is due to my first experience with tube amps (Shiit Magni, Audinst mx2, Fiio...- dreame77

Crack;Bottlehead OTL
Speaking of soundstage size, HD700 with Magni is similar to T1 with Crack (with Magni it was too small). It's hard to imagine how big would become soundstage of HD700 or HD800 with Crack... And one more interesting thing: it is said that one need high-Ohm headphones... BUT I have no...- dreame77

Small question here: How should I describe Bottlehead Crack OTL Kit at customs for calculation of TAX? Amplifier? Tubes and cables?- dreame77

Review: ZMF Modified Fostex T50RP. Superb!
About half a year ZMF were in the box. At that time I tried Hifiman HE-400, Sennheiser HD700, Beyerdynamic T-90 and was pretty pleased with that sound. But about a month age I took ZMF back to my everyday use... and was really amazed about its sound signature. With Schiit Modi+Magni it was way...- dreame77

The Stax Thread III
Hello to everyone! Sorry for the stupid and probably frequently asked questions. For now I used dynamic and planar-magnetic headphones, and have interest in electrostats. Currently I have Hifiman HE-400 on Schiit Modi+Magni, followed by Beyerdynamic T1 on Bottlehead Crack OTL. I was...- dreame77

Crack;Bottlehead OTL
Thank you! Could you comment on this article of comparison between T1 and HD800 http://www.headfonia.com/hd800-t1/ ? Yeah, that is a good Idea! If I only had enough money... And I generally prefer to have only one pair of headphones.- dreame77

What is more interesting now, is changes in sound. Did anyone compared Crack with Magni? Or oven better Modi/Magni vs Modi/Crack ?- dreame77

Ok, moving forward! If one would compare T1 and HD800 on Crack SB? Are both of them significantly better than T90 and HD700?- dreame77

I just found one pair of T1 for 700€, probably could try it. Especially if they are significantly better than HD700(500€) and T90(400€).- dreame77

Crack;Bottlehead OTL
Right now I can still choose which headphones to use. So, the basis is Crack + SB. As for headphones I could afford some in the price range 500€, where Beyerdynamic T90 and Sennheiser HD700 are. Are there any other better headphones within this price range? And which headphones would...- dreame77

Crack;Bottlehead OTL
Hello everyone! Recently I ordered my Crack with Speedball upgrade. Few days ago I get Sennheiser HD700 and found them awesome. Now I listen to them through Schiit Modi/Magni and Audinst mx2. The reason I ordered Crack was the article on headfonia.com, there Crack was called almost perfect...- dreame77

Mad Dogs vs Soundmagic HP100
Soundstage and airiness is much more in HP100. HP100 also have much more high notes and sibilance. According to bass, it is more sparky and more impact on HP100. ZMF in turn has more smooth sound from low to high. There NO sibilance. Bass do sound bold and real. But where ZMF shines the most...- dreame77

Mad Dogs vs Soundmagic HP100
Unfortunately in Germany it is quite hard to get w1000x pads for greater comfort. Especially in the small town with no music shops except for MediaMarkt.- dreame77

Mad Dogs vs Soundmagic HP100
It sounds very interesting! I had Beyer DT 990Pro, Philips X1 and Denon D600 alongside with SoundMAGIC HP100, and HP100 were clear winner but had serious comfort issues. Now I ordered the ZMF mod of Fostex t50rp, as they arrive, I would compare them with HP100. P.S. for dac/amp I have...- dreame77

SoundMAGIC HP100/HP150 Review and Impressions Thread
Ok, you would get that bass sound with smartphone, but it would be a very light version of a bass you'll get with an amp (or it was due to different DAC in my combo Audinst mx2). Bass without amp is not detailed at all. So as a result of not detailed sound and very light and soft version of...- dreame77

SoundMAGIC HP100/HP150 Review and Impressions Thread
I tried with Fiio e17, but even versions like e07 would be enough. Versions e11 and e12 would be sufficient for 300 Ohm phones. It is interesting to mention that using a Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro (250 Ohm version) with iPhone5 without any amp, and with Fiio e17, I didn't get any difference in...- dreame77

SoundMAGIC HP100/HP150 Review and Impressions Thread
Without AMP HP100 would not give you all that bass: detailed and well structured down to very low frequency. On the previous page I talked about the sound from iPhone5. It seems that impedance curve do have a peak on the low end. The mid bass would present, but sub bas would change to very...- dreame77

SoundMAGIC HP100/HP150 Review and Impressions Thread
I made a choice to stay with Denon D600 after listening to SoundMAGIC HP100, Philips X1 and Denon D600 at the same period of time. It was not easy choice, and I still wander if it was right decision. Main reason for HP100 was bad comfort, cause after 1-2 hours my ears begin to hurt. ...- dreame77

Review: ZMF Modified Fostex T50RP. Superb!
According to the review of Audinst mx2 here on head-fi http://www.head-fi.org/products/audinst-hud-mx2/reviews/8629 this amp can power even LCD-2 and HE-500. Thus I probably wouldn't have any problem.- dreame77
