I've never checked out Marduk, but I'll give em a shot. I always hear people saying that Marduk only sounds good on the albums but not live, in any case I'll find out for myself. 

I think that is what I'll do. Buy without amp first, and see how it is, and then later on buy one. As for a sound card I don't really have a dedicated one, I currently just use whatever is stock with my motherboard. Also, what is a DAC, and what is the difference between that and an amp? 

I think they are underrated, and I actually like the fact that the production is getting better for their recent albums. Plus, their lyrics always give me a nice chuckle. The other blackened death metal band I like is behemoth, but recently I like belphegor''s releases more. 

Unfortunately, this is the first time I'm hearing about those stores. How come they require an amp/dac, it says it can easily be driven by a portable device, also why aren't they portable?    This is the picture in the product description, so what rev. would you say this is?

I'd do that and all, but hifiman store says that even if you return you have to pay for shipping. So i'd have to pay for shipping to get the item and shipping back if I needed to do that. With amazon i get free 2 day shipping. I believe returning within 30 days gets you the full refund. 

It says that you have HE 400 rev 4. How can you tell which revision you're buying? I saw them on amazon on black friday, but they weren't at a huge discounted price or anything like that.

Nice, I rarely get to go to any concerts, because of the usual days they take place on. So, school and work get in the way. 

Since I see that some of the parts for the HE 400 have quality control issues. Example, ear pads, cable, headband etc. I tried looking on amazon to see if i could find after market accessory addons for the HE 400, but I wasn't able to find any. Do you know where I could get accessories?
