    Android phones and USB DACs

I dont think the Macintosh should be the problem while rooting and nether should the SIII (maybe give the xda-developers forum a try?). But back to topic, do you know if the app itself updates itself (pretty darn sure that sentence isn't exactly correct english x) or is it the playstore that...

    Android phones and USB DACs

Just checked out "HibyMusic" and well it's okay-ish to be honest. It autochecks the whole device for music right on startup and so far seems to work quite ok with most formats.   But it try's to connect to the net on every startup which i blocked right away. It is funny that MOST of the...

Are you rooted/do you have root on your device? If so you could simply uncheck the apps permission to use your network-connection by using AFWall (Android Firewall) or go even further with  xPrivacy(restrict every single permission if you like, but more complicated) I didn't know...

The "E5" doesn't look that portable, it actually looks probably larger than my phone :D and its more expensive than my Dragonfly :) I need something smaller really in the size of the Dragonfly, it doesn't have to be rectangular, it can be square as an Fiio E05(Its just an AMP and no DAC iirc?)...

    Android phones and USB DACs

Hi there, a special request here! :)     As far as i know (i've tested it) the Audioquest Dragonfly still doesnt work with the Xperia-Z and i would like to ask if you have any recommendation for an USB-DAC that will definetelly work with the Xperia-Z and the buildin Players (be it VLC/Walkman...

Great to hear that, do you now if there is any Retailer selling the UD100 in Europe, so that i wouldn't have to wait a few weeks till it arrives?

    Android phones and USB DACs

Hi there, how are the following DAC's working under Android (especially Xperia-Z) :  StonerAccustics UD110v2 How is it compared to the Audioquest Dragonfly?   The UD100 used the same ESS-Sabre Chip, and therefore shouldn't work without the use of UAPP, but what about the PCM5102-based DACs...

    Android phones and USB DACs

Been using some pretty normal USB-OTG Cable myself for the last half year. So far it didn't have anything to regret, it was about 10ish Dollars although i could have probably get the same cable for half the price on the interwebs :)         I have yet to see a "high-quality" cable...

    Android phones and USB DACs

@ DanBa First things first, great explanation you gave me there, exactly what I wanted to know. Problem now is to decide if it is worth investing into "UAAP" or waiting the few remaining week's until Android KITKAT 4.4 gets officially rolled out and the problem with the dragonfly is probably...

    Android phones and USB DACs

Hi DanBa, you seem to have probably tested out the most combination out there, do you know why exactly on this Video, it seems to be working over OTG without any kind of third party software? It seem to be even not the latest Android (think it's 4.2.2 regarding the looks).   I know that it...

    Android phones and USB DACs

Yep, i just updated to latest and checked it myself, no out-of-the-box playing... But the Bug that freezed the XperiaZ while using the DAC over OTG is gone. Will propably buy "UAPP" or wait for 4.4 to roll out :) Actually "UAPP" is pretty well integrated as it used the playlist/lastplayed etc...

    Android phones and USB DACs

Iam a bit confused now :P Is it just possible over UARP/UAPP on the Xperia-Z or is it possible without 3rd-Party Apps with 4.3 on the Xperia-Z? I would update right now, if that would be the case, the 4.3 Update is there for quite some time, just being lazy to hit the Upgrade-Button :) Thanks!

Nope, i didnt even know that 4.4 was yet to be officially out. Iam still at 4.2 sadly     Ofc. i could flash the leaked 4.4-Image but i rather wait till it gets officially rolled out, that shouldnt be to long anyways. Iam facing also some bugs, while trying out UAPP/UARP-TRIAL lock-screen...

    Android phones and USB DACs

Hi there, i tried it out just a second ago, and it didn't work out of the box with my Xperia-Z and the Dragonfly V1.2 :-(   I tried it with the UARP-Trial and it worked fine, no stuttering no glitching whatsoever, EVERYTHING PERFECT. But now the Question, why did it work for the guy in the...

    Android phones and USB DACs

Is it just me, or is it possible that i dont need an App to play it over the external-DAC at all? Found this video, and it looks kinda promising!     https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lt0E62X0ZSE     I think i remember reading that Android degrades 24bit Music down to 16bit (somewhere...

    Android phones and USB DACs

Hi there, a quick question regarding your Post.   As far as i understand the Audioquest Dragonfly should work with the Sony Xperia Z (no ultra etc..), but would it work with the Walkman App or just with "USB Audio Recorder PRO"? Its not about the extra-cash for the App but because of the...

    Android phones and USB DACs

Hi there, a quick question what do i need to play my Music using the Dragonfly on my Xperia-Z, as seen on this Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xyeg1dtBCqc     A quick sum-up of the things i need would be  much appreciated, hope there have been people that tested the following setup...

AudioQuest Dragonfly Review : Affordable, Outstanding, Tiny DAC / Amp

My DF 1.2 broke....doing to the stress and added weight on the Jack, it was the Jack itself and not the USB part.   Luckily i got a replacement from the dealer right away, so one big hint, no matter what, get yourself something to lighten the stress either on the USB-Part or the Jack if you...

AudioQuest Dragonfly Review : Affordable, Outstanding, Tiny DAC / Amp

Trust me, it will bend down if you dont support the stick to some extent as someone here already proven it :) No matter how carefully you use it, even if you wouldn't move the Notebook its connected to by a single inch from its place.   Of course if you use little In-Ears which come...

AudioQuest Dragonfly Review : Affordable, Outstanding, Tiny DAC / Amp

Absolutely no problem mate! As someone stated before its like command-prompt on Windows 7.   I thought it would might be useful for one or another to see how its done under Linux so i made a little picture-tutorial.     1. Download Ubuntu-Linux Live-CD Iso and burn it onto a CD or a...

AudioQuest Dragonfly Review : Affordable, Outstanding, Tiny DAC / Amp

@Whippler First thank you for pointing out the fix for Foobar2000, was kinda terrible to switch it according to the samplerate :)       And as mentioned before, it seems like the only way to be on the safe side is to check it with ether OSX or a linux-live CD of your choice using "lsusb -v"...

AudioQuest Dragonfly Review : Affordable, Outstanding, Tiny DAC / Amp

I think you can't without using eather a OS X or a linux live-cd of your choice and typing "lsusb -v" into the Terminal, to see if there is something like that in the Device-Descriptor -> " bcdDevice            1.20"   I tried it on Windows but it seems like there isnt a possibilty to...

AudioQuest Dragonfly Review : Affordable, Outstanding, Tiny DAC / Amp

Possible, but then we are talking about pricetags way higher than 150$. Had the chance to compare it to the Asus Xonar One today (actually right now) and the Dragonfly is on par with it or even surpasses it in my subjective test, ofc. with same audio-levels, its normal that the Xonar One...
