So I'm only a couple days in and my "lack of bass" observations are wearing off. They seem to present bass as it was meant - full on some songs and light on others. I hear this same thing in my room at home with a 12" sub for each channel. Some songs which thump my chest relentlessly upstairs...

Hey man, it's selectable per the site:   Output Resistance: Selectable 0.1, 35 or 120Ohm That's what we're referring to when we're saying "low, medium, high," it's selectable on each side of the amp per channel though I'd imagine this should always be equal on both channels.

I have 650's on the way from the For Sale forum here, can't wait! Just today I ponied up for an Ember with the 6sn7 adapter, as I don't think my Bravo V2 is going to do right by 300-ohm cans. The Ember should scale well with my current Grados and my future HE400's from a buddy. Excited to try...

Great advice, I will do as you suggest, go for the 6sn7 and ask about the Sylvania tubes you mentioned. I don't see anything with Sylvania and chrome in the description on the PDF on his site, but I'll send an email over and go that route.    So yea, Ember inbound :)
