    That's highly debatable. I've had both & the w3's are much better to my ears.

    I'd honestly rather spend 1k on a nice, full-size headphone. I find it VERY hard to justify spending over $500 on a non-custom iem.

    Maximum isolation for under $150... Etymotic HF5 or MC5?

    I think the isolation difference is minimal. If anything, the HF5's will isolate better because the nozzle is smaller, therefore allowing deeper insertion.    With the tri-flanges, they're both excellent isolators.
