Astell&Kern AK380
I have been using the AK380 for a couple of weeks now and taken it with me during a long business trip. After more than 200-300 hours of burn-in I think it has reached a sort of a stable steady state. The major impressions are the same, i.e. very non-fatiguing listening with details in the high...- gval13

Astell&Kern AK380
Thanks! It is difficult to get hold of the amp units around, but I might try. With regards to the differences you mentioned, I believe the AK240 + Hugo sounds different when compared with AK120 (Titan) + Hugo. In terms of sheer personal preferences, I think AK120 + Hugo is sonically better than...- gval13

Astell&Kern AK380
I spent some quality time with both AK240SS and AK380 + Hugo with both my pair of IEMs (Earsonics Velvet) and LCD3 (Fazor). Let me state clearly that everything is rather preliminary as I did not have time to stay with the devices for weeks and the AK380 is only burning in slowly. I have...- gval13

Astell&Kern AK380
I had a chance to compare both AK240SS and AK380. I have used DSD files (mostly classical) with a pair of Earsonics Velvet. I find the AK380 incredibly spacious. The soundstage is big and both bass and trebles are very nice. Bass are deeper and fuller (I use the Velvet in balanced mode) while...- gval13

The Astell & Kern AK120 for Mac users
Thanks whitesurfstyle5 and Sam Edwards for your replies. I used to have most of my library in alac format but I then decided to switch it to aiff. I understand that it would be better to stick with alas/flac but I still do not understand the policy of the AK guys as they simply disregard the...- gval13

The Astell & Kern AK120 for Mac users
Hi I have a AK120 Titan and I am a mac user. I am experiencing a problem which I believe some others have experienced when using the player: AIFF files do not show artwork. I am aware of the fact that the new breed of AK players does not share the same problem and I was wondering if anyone...- gval13

Rockbox for iPOD Video 5th 5.5th mSATA SSD MOD
Is it because the 480 SSD msata is "too big" or this problem would apply to any SSD of any size? My understanding from reading various forums is that people have been quite successful with sizes of 240 and below. Thanks- gval13

Rockbox for iPOD Video 5th 5.5th mSATA SSD MOD
Hi I have modded my iPod video 60Gb with a 480 SSD (Crucial) and an msata to zif adapter. The iPod works quite well and transfer time is not too bad although I think is slower than USB 2.0. However, I am facing the problem that after 1-2 hours of use (although the iPod seems fully charged)...- gval13

The Darkvoice/La Figaro 332C and 332S Impressions/Discussion Thread
I am currently using 339 with HD800 and I find it satisfactory. A bit of tube rolling is necessary to get the sound signature of preference.- gval13

The Astell & Kern AK120
Hi there this is my first post in your forum, although I have been reading avidly the posts on many interesting issues! I have recently purchased an AK120 Titan. My initial idea was to pair it with a Alo Continental v3 and some CIEM for listening my music on the go. I am currently using a...- gval13
