Looking for an on-the-ear similar to Bose Q-Comfort 3
OK, guyz, I see you have been quite busy, whilst I sleep! Cat, great questions, and thanks for the time you spend replying: For the record, I have both the Ety 4's, the Shure E4's, and the Koss PortoPros. My ear canals are rejecting them medically (IEM), so I am seeking alternatives in...- simplemind

Looking for an on-the-ear similar to Bose Q-Comfort 3
Any one heard these? They are very comfy with good sound, however, I know there may be better alternatives, and I don't like the pseudo noise cancelling feature and charging batteries.- simplemind

How to make your $10 Koss Plugs sound like a gem.
After months of trying to get comfortable with the Ety 4's and the Shure E4's (total investment around $400) I bought the PLUG. Modded the foamies. Well, they are now my IEM of choice. Flame on brudder , but these are the most enjoyable phones to date. Now to qualify: I am talking a...- simplemind

Cord management ideas for IEM's
Yup, I use the over-the-ears and behind the head myself and that get's it out of the way, however with the E4C the cord is longer and also heavier and it pulls alot more than I'm used to. I guess I'll have to find a clip similar to the ETY clip and then I can secure it to my collar. I really...- simplemind

Cord management ideas for IEM's
I now have a set of E4C's and it has a longer cord that I'm used to. I use these for recreation (hiking, golf, etc.). My ETY's had a clip, but these have nothing to retain the cord. Any ideas ? Thanks, SM- simplemind

Homemade Foam Ear Tips for IEMs
Re: the rotary hole punch, mine is not quite as elegant as the one I referenced however it functions exactly the same way. I think I got it Tandy Leather many moons ago. I would bet that Harbor Freight has one for $0.99 BTW, it is still difficult to get the hole exactly in the middle, and I...- simplemind

Homemade Foam Ear Tips for IEMs
After trying the drill method several frustrating times, I simply flattened the plug (end to end) with my fingers and used a rotary leather punch ( http://www.widgetsupply.com/page/WS/...ow-punch/BCY16 )and it worked just fine. You won't believe how quick and easy it is. It's not a perfect...- simplemind

Homemade Foam Ear Tips for IEMs
Why do you have to squeeze them down, just stick them in the freezer and it will make them more rigid and hence easier to drill!- simplemind

My IEM Review (Shure E4/E5, UE Super.Fi 5 Pro/EB, Etymotic ER4s)
So, do we have a majority (of opinion) that when the use is unamplified portables (iPod) the Super.fi 5 is a better choice than the Shure E4C?- simplemind

Shure E4C vs E4G
Thanks for the post digitalmind! I did see the review and it's good stuff. I guess it's now a matter of record that there is no audible difference in the C and G models, so I will leave it alone.- simplemind

Shure E4C vs E4G
I couldn't seem to find any posts comparing the two, however, there is plenty that state the "E4C has tight albeit medium to low bass level". The E4G is supposed to have a more bass forward profile. I'm coming from the Ety 4P's which even with a good seal, still don't have the bass I'm looking...- simplemind
