AUDIOSENSE in-ear monitors Impressions Thread
The DD in the original AQ4 wasn't very good. I wonder if they've upgraded it.- FastGecko5

On a different note what the heck is going on with Moondrop? I've never really cared for their stuff for various reasons but they REALLY seem to have lost their touch. Did they lose all their good engineers to Truthear?- FastGecko5

I like this, this is an interesting metric. Maybe not necessarily as a way to assign an overall rating to an IEM but just as another data point. For instance I'd give the Floaudio Lily a 5/10 sound rating, and the Audiosense DT200 a 4/10, but the DT200 gets a usage rating of 7/10 while the Lily...- FastGecko5

Top 3 most comfortable IEMs I've tried are the Audiosense DT200, Audiosense T800, and Aful Performer 8. It's worth noting that I haven't really tried anything above $300 or so though.- FastGecko5

Sound Rhyme impression thread
My favorite IEM at the moment is the Audiosense T800, which is quite a V-shaped IEM. But I do use EQ to make a little less V-shaped so maybe you're right. But anyway, it's not that I don't like V-shaped signatures, it's that the SR7 has so much warmth it sounds kinda stuffy. I also wouldn't...- FastGecko5

The switches add bass which just makes the overly-warm situation worse imo. I found it best with both switches down.- FastGecko5

Not an IEM but I'm anxiously awaiting reviews of the Audeze MM-100. Can't really tell if you like it or not, but for me the T800 has sorta ruined the hobby for me (for now). Nothing I've tried has been better enough than the T800 to warrant replacing the T800. Plus the fit for me with it is...- FastGecko5

Ergonomics are a big thing for sure. NiceHCK MeetAlice? Microphonic. Stiff. Abrasive. Literally unusable. KZ PR1 Pro? Great sounding IEM. Atrocious fit. Would love to keep it. Won't because I can't get the damn thing to fit right. (PS for anyone looking for a good-fitting planar, TinHifi P1...- FastGecko5

Sound Rhyme impression thread
I see a lot of people asking about the SR7 so I just wanna chime in with a bit of a dissenting opinion. I personally wasn't that impressed with it. Its strong points are that it has really well articulated bass, fairly out of head soundstage, and natural timbre. But tonally (to my ear and...- FastGecko5

Yet another ChiFi company trying to stay relevant by dragging out its hype. Maybe a harsh take but look at companies like Soundrhyme, Aful, Dunu, etc that ship a good product in an inoffensive box and have still been getting lots of love. Moondrop knows they're behind and they're trying to...- FastGecko5

I had the TFZ T2 Galaxy up until a year ago or so. Slept on IEM imo. Really really fun and bassy with okay technicalities and well-controlled bass bleed. I personally liked it more than the Moondrop KXXS back in the day. Picked up the S e n f e r (censored that the first time?) DT9 on a whim a...- FastGecko5

I admit I have not. And while I agree that sources can vary in sonic presentation and performance, I find it hard to believe you NEED a $1200 DAP to drive $250 IEMs (which look to have fairly typical driveability, if maybe a little on the low side as far as sensitivity is concerned).- FastGecko5

To be clear I was referring to a different user with that particular example. But I do know they weren't particularly impressed with you when you tried to act like only people new to the hobby could like the Blessing series IEMs. You came off condescending, don't act shocked that they were...- FastGecko5
