I believe I am hearing the noise as 'physical' noise transmitted through the cable to the headset ear cups as opposed to electronically conducted through the mic to the drivers.  BUT I am not familiar with how the mic and drivers are supposed to work.

I just got these today - after much deliberation and anticipation. Tried them out listening on a webinar and CRAAAP  tons of noise from the cable brushing against my shirt and corner of the desk.   Is this typical? Normal.  It is driving me nuts after 45 minutes. Thinking of returning them...
