I'm on a Mac.  When I use my USB guitar through Garage Band I get a really bad distorted sound like there is feedback  or talk back from a uncalibrated microphone, if that makes sense.   As far as the Schiit Magni goes, which is a very interesting name... what criteria did you use to recommend...
