Agreed   M100's are one of the best public consumer use headphones to enter the Audiophile market. Somewhat mainstream music listener influenced sound signature, but with more Audiophile quality in the sound. The LP's are in no way for Audiophiles, just an option for bass-heads to test out...

The M100's are definitely built like a tank. ("military-grade" testing according to their site) The Matte black even has a sexy stealth fighter feel to it.   Comfort-wise though, they tend to hurt for bigger ears after a while. My M80's hurt my average sized left ears within minutes of use...

Just got the E7 myself. Don't have much to compare it to since it's my first amp/dac. I'll be hooking it up Vmoda M80, M100 -> an outdated laptop, old ipod 30gb brick, HTC One & iPhone 5... So I'll throw in my .02 cents of noob level experience later.

I'm new to the game, so bear with me.    Hate to see every M100 + DAC/AMP thread die out... Basically from what I've read (more than experience), M100 are low impedence headphones. An amp will give more fruitful results for High Ohms impedence headphones ... the best combo is a low impedence...

How's everyone's experience been after a few months? Just got an E7 for my M100's to use on my iDevices & laptop. Starting to think it was unnecessary now, but I'm hoping it will be a solid upgrade to my laptops shoddy audio card.

The M80's are known to be neutral sounding. They were made to take the sound straight to your ears as the song was made to sound. I can't compare with the Jaycars, but I can say the M80's do have slightly more bass strength than the more neutral over-ears. Not by much if your a basshead though...
