What exactly are "highs" "mids" "treble" "roll off"?
Well if amps have the same function as headphones, why is there a need for them? How much does a decent amp cost? I mean why would you go to the hassle of buying an inferior pair of headphones and upgrade it with an amp instead of just going out to buy a higher end headphone. This is...- Lukien

What exactly are "highs" "mids" "treble" "roll off"?
So basically, as i understand from your post, an equipment, such as a headphone, would "tune" the frequencies of a particular note. For e.g an "A" note will always be of the same pitch (that is A), but different headphones would bring out different characteristics of the "A" note. A...- Lukien

What exactly are "highs" "mids" "treble" "roll off"?
Some theoretical stuff written there, but i get what you guys mean But when i read reviews about high, mids and lows, i could simply assume that these terms refer to high pitches, meduim pitch and low pitches right? I mean, that would be what they are talking about- Lukien

What exactly are "highs" "mids" "treble" "roll off"?
Thanks a lot for the clarification. I think now i can understand headphone reviews better. Since i really like metal keyboard/piano solos, the next headphone i buy would have to be one with clear mids then, and of course bass for the drums. Thanks :)- Lukien

Does frequency = pitch? So bass is low frequencies = low pitch instruments like drums or low piano notes? Does it apply to vocals too? Lows = growls?- Lukien

Looking for a good affordable pair of earphones
Hi herpderp, thanks for the reply. I'm looking for IEMs (in-ear monitors) aka the earbuds that go into your ear canals, because i want to use them on the move and they are more comfortable and convenient. Would you have any recommendations for IEMs? Thanks for the clarification of...- Lukien

Looking for a good affordable pair of earphones
Hi all, i'm new in buying higher end earphones so i'm looking for some help. I'm looking for a pair of noise cancelling earphones for my sony phone under $100. I've looked around the internet and saw brands like grado, seinhesser and shure. Most of them are out of my budget, shure is closer...- Lukien
