Looking for a £200-£300 set-up for my laptop

What if I had the E17+iPod with the L3 Cable? I could then use the E17 for my laptop too?

Looking for a £200-£300 set-up for my laptop

Oh I see, the USB digital audio streaming sounds handy. I am also relatively interested in owning an iPod touch for the apps and such too. I guess I will grab whatever I find on deal first.

Looking for a £200-£300 set-up for my laptop

How good are 4th gen iPod Touch's (or even a 5th gen) in terms of sound quality in comparison to the FiiO X3, assuming I have a £200 budget for an amp?   Also, which one out of the ATH-M50's and the DT770 80ohm has the least sound leakage? If I replaced the pads on the DT770's would they leak...

Hmm okay, interesting. I'll do a bit of research and see what I can find regarding the Dragonfly.

Looking for a £200-£300 set-up for my laptop

The FiiO X3 does sound appealing; I may be able to find a used one a little cheaper than the £160 on Amazon which would make it completely worth it to me. I have a FiiO E5 but that is very cheap stuff, probably wouldn't help at all.   All in all, I'm currently thinking about getting the...

Looking for a £200-£300 set-up for my laptop

Oh I see now, thanks for clearing that up! I can make more of an informed decision now I know exactly what kind of things I'm looking for. It may well be possible that the Sansa Clip+ can drive the DT770's alone, and I can invest in a separate amp for that later on down the line.

Looking for a £200-£300 set-up for my laptop

Sounds good. Are there any portable amp's that have similar sound quality as the Topping t-amps?   Since I'll be using DT770 80ohm's with a Sansa Clip+, was just wondering if getting a portable amp that can drive the Diamond 9.1's and be used with the Dragonfly would be worth the money...

Brilliant. I may well end up doing that then. The Dragonfly is fairly expensive but from what I've read, it seems worth it.

Looking for a £200-£300 set-up for my laptop

I see. In that case, I wonder if I could purchase the Audioquest Dragonfly and simply plug the DT770's straight into that if I decided to listen through headphones, and if I were to use the Diamond 9.1's I would plug one of those amps into the Dragonfly?

Looking for a £200-£300 set-up for my laptop

Will do. Also still trying to decide what DAC+Amp combo to use. I mainly listen to dubstep/rock/DnB so I like powerful bass; I'm still looking for some DAC's but will the TA2021/TA2020 t-amps be good for this kind of music with the Diamonds?   On another note, I plan on using the DT770 80ohms...

Looking for a £200-£300 set-up for my laptop

This is a big help to me, thanks a lot! I'm going to look around for prices and see what I can find, I will most likely end up with the Diamonds, but I'll give you a shout before I make my final decision haha. ;)   EDIT: Are Superfi a respectable company then? As in if I had a problem with the...

Looking for a £200-£300 set-up for my laptop

Oh that is a very interesting suggestion. What about a DAC? You mean to use the Sabre U2 + t-amp + diamond 9.1s?

Looking for a £200-£300 set-up for my laptop

Ahh I understand now! I think I will be purchasing the items you suggested earlier;   Laptop > Hifimediy > E11 Sansa > E11 Possibly with the Audioengine A2, but I'm not entirely sure about those yet! Thank you very much for your help!! :D

Looking for a £200-£300 set-up for my laptop

Oh okay. The Audioengine A2s do look pretty good, I was also wondering if using an equalizer was possible with the HiFimeDIY Sabre U2? Just incase my speakers sounded bad until they were EQ'ed.

Looking for a £200-£300 set-up for my laptop

Ah I see.. As for the HiFimeDIY Sabre U2, would the HiFimeDIY USB Isolator be needed? Considering going with the Sabre U2 since it is very cheap and does what I need. Can you suggest any speakers that are good for around £100 or less and available in the UK?

Looking for a £200-£300 set-up for my laptop

Sounds good to me, do you know how good the sound quality is on the Hifimediy? I have a fairly decent budget so I was just wondering if there is anything else that can do a better job. I'm also looking for speakers in the UK if you know of any good ones.   Thanks for the help thus far by the...

Looking for a £200-£300 set-up for my laptop

Hmm I have a Sansa Clip+ that I use regularly to listen to music on the go... how would the E17 affect my audio? Would be nice if it worked for both the laptop and my portable listening needs. Still I'm not entirely sure how it all works together.

    Computer Audio Setup - Opinions?

Oh wow these are some interesting options I will have to look at haha, thank you very much! Time to get researching :D

Looking for a £200-£300 set-up for my laptop

They do look quite handy, but probably not what I'm looking for.   What would you say about the Fiio E10/E17, paired with another amp (like a Lepai amp with the bass/treble/volume knobs and whatnot), along with some speakers (not sure what ones though). Obviously it's not as portable as the...

Looking for a £200-£300 set-up for my laptop

Heya, I'm looking for a good set-up for my computer, I will be using a laptop fairly soon though so a sound-card is out of the question. I live in the UK and have a budget of about £200-£300.   I'm in need of new speakers and a DAC(+)Amp to hook up to my laptop. I listen to Rock/Dubstep/DnB so...

    Computer Audio Setup - Opinions?

Heya, I was also looking for a good set-up for my computer, I will be using a laptop fairly soon though so a sound-card is out of the question. Another constraint is that I live in the UK but my budget is similar (£200-£300).   I'm in need of new speakers and a DAC/Amp to hook up to my laptop...
