and yes i do have an amp, I'm using LYR to drive my re-cabled K550. Not the best option but it's kinda alright. Background noise is hardly noticeable unless I stop the music and turn the volume close to max.

 what do you mean by alternate option?

Hi,   I'm looking for a second-handed headphone dac which cost around 600-700 box. Because I need an usb function to connect my computer so at this price range I only know Benchmark Dac1 USB..  Does anybody know some other options that I can go with?      Thanks!

I know it is designed to be portable.. I've listened to it and it's just like what Primetime86 says, it sounds really muddy. I tried both the M100 and Momentum with my itouch and you can tell the difference when you first put them on. The momentum with an itouch sounds pretty clear but the M100...

Imo I don't think any of the 2 cans you provided is a good option. I've heard that T70 sounds a little lack of bass when it comes to rock and metal, which is a really important factor for your type of music. the Hifiman, well, forgive me I just don't like it... i've never heard them but Hifiman...

  I agree on your point that open back cans can give a more comfortable listening experience and a greater soundstage. But it means it will however disturb others because people hear exactly what you hear... if a little privacy is needed then I think closed back headphones can do a better job.  

however imo it is a disaster if you don't have an amp for it...

I haven't heard anything about the fake k702 on the market yet, usually people only worried about the fake k450. I don't know if they still use the serial number or have removed the bumps. However, imo you should only worry if your headphones are fake when they look exactly the same product but...
