"Recent breakup, want to feel better" music needed
When I saw this thread I thought of a line for High Fidelity... Quote: What came first, the music or the misery? People worry about kids playing with guns, or watching violent videos, that some sort of culture of violence will take them over. Nobody worries about kids listening to...- SeventyFive

AKG K501 Bass VS. Beyer DT880 Bass
Personally I find the DT880s to have much more noticeable bass than the K501s, which I find to be utterly lacking in the bass department.- SeventyFive

So I have 15 Free iTunes Downloads...
Well 'The Rat' is an album only song on iTunes (gg Reprise ) and the rest of the suggestions are apparently a bit too indie for iTunes or something as I can't find any of the bands... I've only got 4 more days to use these free downloads (well the 5 free songs from Pepsi expire, the other...- SeventyFive

So I have 15 Free iTunes Downloads...
Thanks to Pepsi and a $10 gift certificate, I can download up to 15 songs for free from iTunes. I've decided to take this opportunity to try out some new bands/music styles that I haven't noticed before (read: I couldn’t think of anything off the top of my head). So I need your help (well...- SeventyFive

Picture: Can you tell me which Grado pads these are?
They look a lot like the flats that I have, though there is the possibility that they could be a well done mod. Note: I'm basing a lot of this off the slits (or whatever they are) around the center of the pads.- SeventyFive

New Nick Drake rarities collection coming
I don't know if it's just me, but this kind of feels like a money grab by the studio. One new track and some alternative takes doesn't seem like much. Of course this won't most likely stop me from buying it. I'm a bit too much of a fan for that...- SeventyFive

I've never found the K501s boring, just disappointed by the lack of bass. I'll try listening to them a bit more tonight to see if I can get a better impression of them. As for damaging the hearing, I don't believe I have much to worry about as I have a tendency to listen at low levels...- SeventyFive

While I do like the Grado sound, I don't like the Grado comfort. It's a shame about the lack of comfort. The A900 sounds like a good headphone; except that it's closed and I'm currently looking for an open headphone (closed headphones get a bit too warm over the summer).- SeventyFive

Looking for an open headphone recommendation...
I have thought about the Etys, but decided against them as I'm not the biggest fan of jamming things into my ears. I've been using a pair of their ear plugs and I don't think that it's a sort of headphone I'd like to be wearing most of the time. As for the 600s, I'm a bit leery of the...- SeventyFive

Well I've gotten the itch for a new pair of headphones and I need some advice on which headphone to get. I'm looking for an open headphone, with a price ceiling of about $250. So, for example, don’t recommend the Sen 650 as its way over my budget. My source and amp can be found in my profile...- SeventyFive

The ATH W1000's
So does anyone know why the price of the W1000 and the CD3000 went up so much in price? A look at the exchange rate shows that the exchange rate is currently 1 USD = 109.43 JPY and was 1 USD = 119.64 JPY on June 30th. Looks like a good part of that price hike is due to the weakening US dollar...- SeventyFive
