Out of curiosity, in what way do the 400S need "more than a Magni 2 can give"? I don't own that particular amplifier, but just looking at the specs, it has more than enough power to blow out your ear drums on the HE-400S.

How would you compare the two (X2/HE400S) from a comfort standpoint? I like to hear feedback from several different people on comfort comparisons, since everyone's head is different.

I haven't used either of those myself pieces of equipment personally, but the specs on the A2 suggest it should be powerful enough to drive a relatively sensitive headphone like the 400S to reasonable listening levels.
