    iBasso DX80 . . impressions and reviews. . and discussion NEW FW: 1.6.0 ** link . . 1st page . . .

I purchased mine from an authorized USA seller off of Amazon back in December.  I had no problem returning it and although I was assured I would be getting a "newer" replacement unit, I declined and will be getting a different player.

    iBasso DX80 . . impressions and reviews. . and discussion NEW FW: 1.6.0 ** link . . 1st page . . .

I had the same issue and returned my unit -- it's been mentioned that the early DX80's had issues with RF interference, but has since been fixed.. you must have received an earlier version as I did.

iBasso DX80 Bug Thread - Post Any Firmware Bugs/Issues Here

I received a DX80 for Christmas and it sounds very good and was happy with it... well, until I took it to work this morning and got a nice clear reception of a radio station.... not sure if it's my building Wifi, or just because I'm in town and close to a broadcasting antenna... no idea, but I...

    The Astell & Kern AK240

True, but I'm talking about the general population as a whole... most people don't go around buying $7000 phones.  In today's market, new phones are amazing and they keep getting better -- even with the trend towards subsidized phones, $600-$800 is still not that unreasonable for a multipurpose...

    Android phones and USB DACs

Thanks!  I just download the trial version for a test and I can now output from the Note 8 USB to my amp/dac.  The full version is $10, which isn't a bad deal and it now gives me me 2 options at work for streaming music: phone, tablet -- I prefer the tablet as to not drain my phone battery.  ...

    The Astell & Kern AK240

Thanks for all those replies about using Spotify on the AK models.  Yes, I know streaming isn't nearly as good as listening to a high-fidelity file, but I don't want to listen to my owned music 100% of the time.  I listen to Spotify 90% of the time to discover new music -- all this takes place...

Sennheiser Momentum Ear Cup Size -- If you're on edge, do you get used to them?

I like the sound of the Momentums, but couldn't take the fit on my ears -- too bad as for the price you pay, it's a great set of cans.  So, I don't care how good any pair of headphones sound if they're uncomfortable ... you can't enjoy the music if your ears hurt -- it's like watching a great...

    Sennheiser MOMENTUM Review

it was either that, or time-share my LCD-XCs with her, so I think I got off cheap.

    The Astell & Kern AK240

So, how can you get Spotify to work on any of the AK models?  ... or is that still a no-go?  I'm not sure about quality, but could you somehow tether it to you phone using that streaming function, or Bluetooth?  I'd really like to use only one device that has both a built in amp/dac and ability...

    Sennheiser MOMENTUM Review

Got a pair for my 16 year old daughter -- took her to the store and she immediately took the black pair.

    Android phones and USB DACs

Okay, a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 isn't an Android phone, but it should behave like one. Anyway, I recently got pushed the Kitkat upgrade on my Samsung Note 2 (phone!) and Note 8 and didn't think much about allowing it to install ... well, now my USB port on the Note 8 has stopped outputting to my...

    Sennheiser Momentum vs ath-m50

I have both and both sound good depending on how you want your music to sound... yes, that's a "no-help" answer, but you really should try them both and see what you like -- nobody ever ends-up with just one pair of headphone, so don't think about it too much.  Just on a side note, I got a pair...

    AUDEZE LCD XC

The best thing to do is demo the XCs yourself -- listening to music is too subjective. If you don't have a dealer close to you, you can have them mailed to you by an online retailer --- you just have to pay for to/from shipping, but that's a small price to pay to avoid being stuck with a pair of...

    AUDEZE LCD XC

The Oppo HA-1 is a very nice amp -- completely different in terms of portability of course -- there's never a single solution for anything and you'll always end-up getting multiple pieces of gear.  I listen to this setup at work approx.4-6 hours a day and have no complaints -- and I use the amp...

    AUDEZE LCD XC

I use the Pico dac/amp combo with with XCs at work and it works really well.. if you've never seen the Pico in person, you'd be amazed at how small it is... very portable and very capable.

**MrSpeakers Mad Dog: Impressions and Discussion Thread**

I have the standard MDs and very thankful that MrSpeakers has the option to upgrade to the Alphas -- must be a lot of owners wanting to upgrade as the wait list is 2 months.. I'm on the list with 1 month to go I think.

    Portable amp for LCD2

I used my LCD-2s with a Pico amp/dac combo at work and it sounded very good.  I'm sure there's always better, but this is super small and the charge lasted a very long time.

    AUDEZE LCD XC

yes, the mids are wonderful... bass and highs are equally as impressive -- you just have to know going in that these are not a neutral set of headphones.  My co-workers love the sound of the XCs, but can't put-up with the weight.  I have no problem with weight, but found them to be more...

    AUDEZE LCD XC

Interesting thread. I think the XCs are a wonderful set of headphones and compliment the Audeze line very well.  I never played my LCD3s at work since they leaked too much music, but that's not a problem with the XCs.  Besides, all technical jargon aside, the XCs are a fun/lively set of...

Best choice for portable Amp for LCD-2s??

Been using my Pico amp/dac + Samsung Note 2 with my LCD-2s at work and couldn't be happier.  On high gain, volume control isn't even half way and it's plenty loud with good solid bass.

Need a new Portable Media Player

Hi,  I try to keep it as simple as possible -- meaning, one less thing to carry around, so why not use your phone?  I'm using my Note 2 with a removable 64GB micro SD card and with a wide variety of app choices to use with your music, it's a nice way to go... and you can use Cloud services as...

    Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread

Hi, new to the forum and pretty much new to spending too much $$$ on headphone gear!  I just got a pair of LCD-2 in and they are really nice sounding.  I tried several Sennheisers, but loved they way the LCD-2 sounded with my music.  I was using a portable amp/dac, but have ordered a Burson...
