They are closed - leakage is pretty minimal really. I have no problems listening to music on the bus with the volume at a nice level. I think they are getting more comfortable - due partly to being able to position them exactly how I like. However, I do not expect them to ever reach...

Well, my rating of these phones would be "good" - no better, no worse. Their sound quality is, for the low price, remarkable. My instant reaction was of disapointment at teh sound quality, though having listened for a bit I am now delighted with sound quality. Disregarding the possibility of...

Well, I've gone for the Creative's and am now waiting for them to arrive, which won't be too fast as I plumped for the "i'm not giving you any more money than I absolutely have to" delivery rate. Hehe. Thanks for all the pointers in this thread - they've been really helpful, and I shall...

My research over the net has led me to believe they are identical products in all but one regard. The ATH-FC7's have pleather padding, whereas the Creative ones have velour - which tips the balance strongly in favour of the HQ-1700.

Bluetin still haven't got back to me with a price - is there any difference at all between the ATH-FC7 and the HQ-1700 other than the branding? Amazon are selling the HQ-1700 cheap: £23.07 delivered

I'm leaning very heavily toward the ATH-FC7 - I'm just waiting a confirmation on the bluetin price - which looks to me to be very good. Basically, unless someone hear points out that theres a miles better headphone for a better price, I'm ordering them !

The only problem I have with canal-phones is the way they amplify sounds such as eating etc. Whilst not a huge issue, it also has an effect on sound when walking around, so I'm cautious about buying something like this as I had a few issues with a pair of canalphones previously as I...

I liked the look of the KSC75 - but if I recall, they are open headphones, and would be too noisy for my neighbours when sitting on the bus/train etc. Other than that though, they seemed pretty decent headphones. I'm checking out the Portapro's as typing, my initial reaction is that they look...

I use headphones very little at home really, and when I do I have a pair of wireless sennheisers which do the job nicely for me. As I am looking just for portable headphones, would you say that the k26p is not a bad choice? The Philips SHP805 look huge! They do not look like the kind of thing...

Thanks for the suggestions. The AKG K81 DJ's are just a bit too expensive and a bit too big - maybe I could forgive one of the two factors, but not both. The way you suggested the "Creative EP-630 / Sennheiser CX300" like that leads me to question whether these are the same phone, but with...

Hi there I'm looking to get some new headphones, and this seems like the best place I've found to ask for some advice as to what to get! Budget: approx £40 - yes I know I am not going to get super-quality for this price, but I'm a student, and do not consider myself enough of an audiophile...
