What is the cheapest low impedance output amp available?

Quote:     Well, you may be right, I have no idea. I'm merely basing this off the advice from Mad Lust Envy, who seems like a forum celebrity and has a massive headphone recommendation thread: see his post on this here.         Edit 1: I have bought the Xonar DGX, but I may...

What is the cheapest low impedance output amp available?

Quote: There is, but the shipping and import costs would probably be prohibitive.   I've heard that a high impedance amp over 2 OHMs (and the Xonar DG is 10+ I think) reduces the quality of the audio of the X1 noticeably. I haven't tested it myself though.

What is the cheapest low impedance output amp available?

Unfortunately the PAV2V doesn't seem to be available in my country (UK). I should've mentioned this.    Another question: Would this setup be okay? 'Xonar DGX (amp+dac)-> amp -> headphones'? Is one external amp okay, or do you need both an external amp AND DAC?

What is the cheapest low impedance output amp available?

Yeah, not a bad suggestion. Only problem with it is that it has to be charged and probably doesn't last that long, which sucks as I'd like to listen to it whilst I'm at work all day.

What is the cheapest low impedance output amp available?

I don't care how bad it may be in comparison to 'good' amps costing hundreds of dollars, I only need a very minimal amount of power. I'm going to be using a Xonar DG sound card in order to use Dolby Headphone surround sound, so any amp that is as powerful as that sound card's inbuilt amp will be...

    [New] Philips Fidelio X1

I see. I might have to use the X1 on its own with just onboard audio then. Far from what it should be, but ah well.    All I can think of that might be appropriate is the E11, which is quite expensive in the UK. But, would that be the end of it? Of course not! I'd need to buy an external DAC...

    [New] Philips Fidelio X1

Yeah, reality sucks like that.   Do you think I, far away from being an audiophile like you, will care about the difference from the impedance output? We'll have to see, though I have no frame of reference.

    [New] Philips Fidelio X1

Upgrading headphones has been a bit of a pain in the balls. Finally settled on the X1 after a lot of deliberating, ordered that. The cable is terrible though and will cause it sound bad, okay... I order a new cable. Need an amp/dac though, so I order a cheap option - the Xonar DG. Apparently...

Quote:   Didn't you say that the difference in sound between different amps is minimal? The X1 seems to require very little amping, so surely the Xonar DG / U3 would be fine? If not, could you recommend any amp in particular under $100? Keep in mind I'm a PC gamer.

    [New] Philips Fidelio X1

Quote: Thanks dude! Ordered.   @dailysmoker - from what I've read earlier in this thread, most people advise against v-moda cables. Take a look at this page. "People have found the V-moda to actually be over 1.0ohm in most occasions."

    [New] Philips Fidelio X1

Anyone know a good, cheap replacement cable for the X1 available in Europe? I'd love to get the monoprice or mediabridge ones, but unfortunately they only seem to be available in America.

Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)

Alright, thanks guys. I've decided to get the Fidelio X-1.    My only question is, what would be the best amp/DAC/whatever to get for all-around gaming (so I guess the e10 is out? Stereo would be bad?) as well as general music/movies etc for less than $100 or so?   Would a sound card...

Seems that way, mainly just the boldened questions that are confounding me at the moment:     Quote:   Also, do you think that the E10 is the best amp/DAC below $100? Not sure if it would do a good job powering all the stuff I listed.

Quote: You say that, of course, without providing any links. Where would I buy it for below 200 euros? I'd really appreciate you finding the cheapest place to get them.   http://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-Fidelio-X1-00-Headphones/dp/B008ZW2T7M That is the norm, or perhaps even cheaper...

Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)

Having a lot of trouble with deciding what headphones to get at the moment. The highest I'm willing to pay for an amp/DAC is less than £60 ($100), so the Fiio E10 is the best I can probably get (would the E10 be able to drive all the headphones listed below?). I was trying to decide between the...

Help - do I need an amp AND a dac for headphones like the DT770?

I'm trying to decide between the M50s, DT770s, etc.    The price of the DT770s is really going to mount up if I have to spend 50% of the price of the headphones or more on a DAC and amp etc, so I dunno if that's worth it. I can get the M50s for about $140 on eBay, whereas the DT770s with an...
