THE DIY HEADPHONE STAND THREAD
Easter experiment Found a piece of drift wood by the beach together with an old rusty wire. Also had two pieces of glass from an old telephone pole laying in the shed, and the rest was just putting them together Kind of liked the look (didn't find any drift wood to use for base just...- oslovian

As others, I use a glass head as the living room stand. Does anyone know if this will 'widen' the hp to an extent that it will ruin them over time?- oslovian

THE DIY HEADPHONE STAND THREAD
Jumping in with my own very simple stand. It's a slob of stone (granite) from an old BBQ (cleaned) and two feet from an old bathroom dresser. Bound together with a couple of screws (just drilled a hole in the stone and one in the tube). As the bottom plate is (very) heavy, it's sturdy and...- oslovian

Do I really need it???
Quote: I stand corrected Sorry about that, I actually thought the LOD bypassed the DAC, but see now it only does so with the AMP Great to learn something new every day (still think bypassing of THE AMP on the ipod improves the sound though)- oslovian

Do I really need it???
Quote: Sure you can use the DAC of the E17 With a iPOD. You will however need the LOD (do not use the minijack of the ipod, but the connector). I use av IPOD classic (rockbox) With LOD to an Fiio E17 - Works (and sounds) like a charm - a big improvement to connecting the headphones...- oslovian

Intro and looking for new cans
I will have to agree with tomB regarding different perception of the sound on the momentum from people with different ears. The last few weeks I've used the Momentums as my main "on the go" cans, but I can't get my self to enjoy them. They do everything "good", no major flaws, but to my ears...- oslovian

US Samsung Galaxy S4
Nice to hear you are pleased with the setup. Seems we got almost the same (S4->OTG->E17) Judging by other posts as well, I guess there is a substantial difference between the US and the EU version (9500 vs 9505) when it comes to the noise problem. Strange (I guess it cannot be the DAC as the...- oslovian

Portable Player Start Point
Hi A suggestion from an other sourcer at the forum who also have the same search going. The X3 sounds very nice, but as it is not available in Europe yet, I have gone with the Sony F806 in the meantime. It's not perfect, and only has 32 GB of storage with no memory card option (shame...- oslovian

US Samsung Galaxy S4
Hi all My first post at the forum :) Just wanted to add on with my own experience with the S4 (I9505, european version) There is definitely a very annoying background hiss with some IEMs. With my SE535 the hiss is very prominent, but much better with the Sennheiser Momentum (but...- oslovian
