I had a pair of these. I can say 2 things about them: 1. They are very well built for the price. 2. They sound fine. Not perfect, but I had good luck mixing with them. I think they make good monitor cans (if you have other headphones/speakers to reference as well). I really loved these...

Quote: I want to coin the phrase "If it ain't audible, it ain't an issue." volume mismatch? what is it mismatching? You mean as per channel? If so, that shouldn't happen if both channels have the same construction. If the entire signal is "mismatched" there's always a volume knob? I...

Quote: Pardon my ignorance, but what is an "audible direction?"     Some more thoughts: - digital cables can be made out of whatever. There is no such thing as better quality 1s and 0s. Especially on short runs. I have no idea why I am seeing $500 spdif cables for sale. It makes...

I just wanna say... I really don't think anyone can hear the difference between copper and silver wire. If you hear a difference it's probably something other than the material (different gauge, length, sheilding, etc).  I think copper is something like 9% less conductive than silver.

I don't see anything for Yarbo one way or the other.   Second thing's second. Anyone know of a good place to buy twisted headphone wire with braided jacket? If I were to braid my own wire, I only need 3 wires, correct? and what awg is best for headphones? I'm going to be modding my...

S/pdif DAC and headphone amp on a budget?

Quote:   How does it compare to the Practical Devices XM5?   Also, if I'm runing a separate audio card for recording/inputs - would a word clock feature be needed?  *edit* hmm... now that I'm thinking about it I'm not sure if I want the DAC.  I should probably just let my...

S/pdif DAC and headphone amp on a budget?

Closed over ears for mixing in the $200 range.

I'm looking for a pair of headphones that will be good for tracking and mixing songs. My budget is around 200$. The used market is ok by me. I have a pair of Sony MDR-7506. If open back is just MIND BLOWING in comparison to closed back, I might swap back n forth when I track/mix. I don't want...

putting a new connector on my headphones (help).

I'm trying to repair my Sony MDR-7506 headphones (the connector was shot. I'm now using a Neutrik NP3C). There's a coating on the wires. If I try to burn it off it makes the wire kind of brittle and doesn't feel quite "right." I repaired them but they cut in and out. I also trying sanding them...
