And in response to your question about the looks, I don't think they are ugly at all, but they arent anything special. I think they are plain looking.

The coiled cord gets annoying sometimes, especially when walking around. They are a bit heavy and weigh down on the ipod. From my experience when i had these headphones, they were a good fit for me, but my brother found them rather ill fitting on his head. Also, contrary to some other people's...

I also like the sound of my hd280's, but comfort may be a factor if you are going to be listening for long periods of time. Also, they are great isolating headphones.

Oh yea, mine are shure wax guards for the e2c if you were planning on buying some.

I just measured the opening of the wax sleeve for my wax guard. It is 5mm so i assume it will fit in yours as well.
