Clip+ sounds better than the Classic

I've never heard a clip but I've heard a fuze (not Rockboxed) and I have to say the Cowon D2 I have wins hands down. It also beats out the Sony S545 I have as well. To me, as stated by someone else in this thread, the killer apps are BBE and Mach3Bass. No sound enhancement found on any other...

Pictures of Your *Budget-Fi* Portable Rig (< $200)

So far so good, bass is insane. They hit hard but are not muddy at all. All aroud they sound quite nice, havent really gotten to know them closely just yet though.

    How to adjust volume properly?

I wouldn't suggest turning it up all the way. Usually when maxing out you introduce distortion - i usually go for around 80-90%. You are right, the key is to get the loudest signal without hiss but you dont want to go into the red and end up boosting distortion either.

Pictures of Your *Budget-Fi* Portable Rig (< $200)

Quick and dirty pic while at work. These lights stink - I'll try to take some nice ones along with my other setup when I get home. Talk about budget - Sony NWZ-S545 16 gig that my wife got with a best buy giftcard from her job and no longer uses along with TDK EB-750's that I paid less than a...

    Multi-IEM Review - 352 IEMs compared (Pump Audio Earphones added 04/03/16 p. 1106)

Are there any IEMs under probably $50 or so that sound similar to the JVC Riptidz ? Heck, if you know one that meets my criteria for $20 and is a steal let me know that too !! Theres been a few threads about them and they really do sound good all around. Nice and balanced, maybe could be a lil...

Surprise TDK EB-750: $6.99 of BETTER AWESOME...w/Special guest TDK IE-500 Ceramic Housing (to follow)

Took them on the go the other day and I found sadly the cord is a little too short for me to take around. I like to keep my player in my back pocket when walking and the wire juuuuusst doesn't really reach. It can go in but small movements will pull the bud out of my ear. No big deal really...

screw reviews. where can i test IEMs myself?

Even though harshly worded I agree 100% with the thread starter. Its a frustrating thing reading reviews and taking a leap of faith. It's not always about being cheap, times are tough and sometimes even "disposible" income can't just be thrown away. Sure there's ways to get your money back but...

    TDK EB-750 IEM

^^^^ for 12 bucks get them. I never heard the Phillips but the TDK's sound quite good and are worth more than $12 for the build quality alone.

JVC Riptidz IEM an $8 gem

I got the Riptidz IEM after reading about them on here. Saw them at Walgrens for $7.99 and couldn't pass them up. Everything that has been said about them is true. They do sound nice and balanced. They dont do anything great but dont do anything bad either. I've had phones costing 4 to 5 times...

Surprise TDK EB-750: $6.99 of BETTER AWESOME...w/Special guest TDK IE-500 Ceramic Housing (to follow)

Just got these at Staples. I had recycled some ink cartridges so I had $14 in store credit. They were on sale for around $14 and some change so i paid less than a dollar for them out of pocket. Initial impressions are that the build quality and looks are awesome ! The cable is great as well...
