San Jose, CA Local Head-Fi Meet - January 30th at Alum Rock Library Event Room
I'll be there briefly to buy something from an attendee, and maybe listen to some of the HeadAmp rigs. Unfortunately, I won't be able to stay there for too long (probably less than an hour).- cclragnarok

Meridian Explorer DAC/Amp Stream of Consciousness Review (WARNING: Not Good)

2013 SF Bay Area (Changfest?) Meet Impressions Thread
Many thanks to purrin, Questhate, CEE TEE, shipsupt, and Anaxilus for making this great meet possible. The Stax SR-009 (thank you jazzfan for letting me try them in my rig ) was the highlight of the meet for me. They were a bit brighter and more open sounding than the SR-007 mk1, but they... -

Thunderpants (T50RP mod) Group Buy
I'm interested in buying a pair of Thunderpants. I guess it's too late to get in on this group by, but I filled in the form anyway. Quote: Would that reduce the isolation? I think I'd rather have the current heavier cups if they isolate better.- cclragnarok

HF-2
I'm not going to tell others what they should be doing, but how about this idea: 1. Sell the HF-2 (or similar item) for as much as you can get. 2. If you made any profit, donate it to charities, schools, etc. You don't have to feel guilty, nobody gets mad at you, and flippers don't get to...- cclragnarok

Sennheiser HD-595...possible sound issue/defect?
Dynamic drivers, defective or not, should not produce any noise when there is no signal. Most likely, you just didn't notice the noise with other headphones. You are probably hearing the noise now because the HD595 is more detailed and/or sensitive.- cclragnarok
