im not a bass head, but i like the sound to be fairly balanced. right now its hanging in the upper and mids... the bass just trails it terribly. is it just a matter of breaking it in? if so, how much time? its supposed to have blackgates and really nice stuff for components (i havent opened it...

im thinking about getting this and using it as a dac/preamp for a ld mkIV... any ideas on how well this might or might not work? hmm... looked around a bit and i guess it would be better to use TS-RCA interconnects. with that taken care of... anybody know the best place to get the 0404usb from?

i see the III's for sale on ebay, but i cannot find the IV any where...

so ive done a little research and this is what ive come up with. (based heavily on budget) MARANTZ CD5400 -> rockhopper millet hybrid + steps psu -> senns hd580 (i already own the cans) good interconnects are going to have to come later. what do you guys think?
