USB-C to 3.5mm adapters (DAC) - Let's find the best
I vote the S9 Pro. It doesn't add color to the sound and drives the FD7 well, as the Oppo PM3. I hardly use it now, due to battery drain, and it just doesn't sound as full as the HIP DAC 2- thepiper92

iFi audio hip-dac 2: just the tonic for headphone fans
Exactly, so since there is no way to tell exact charge level, it cuts power before a damaging level- thepiper92

iFi audio hip-dac 2: just the tonic for headphone fans
1900 mAh makes sense, around 86% capacity. Fully draining a Lithium Ion pack damages the cells, so there is some form of voltage cutoff.- thepiper92

HIP DAC 2 issue
Going to get the same one again...hoping it doesn't have any issues. I've never had an amp/dac die like this. One of my old Fiio amps, back when the LOD cable for the iPod and iPhone was the way to go (the only time I had an Apple device), died in a similar manner after about 3 or 4 years. I'm...- thepiper92

HIP DAC 2 issue
Fiio FD7 sounds fine on my S9 Pro. Not sure I'll go back for the HIP DAC 2...pretty sad that it died in less than a month. Turns me off all iFi products to be honest. I've had other brands of amps, and never had any die this quick- thepiper92

HIP DAC 2 issue
I've been enjoying my HIP DAC a lot, and have been listening to my Fiio FD7. Today, I suddenly lost my left channel. When I don't allow it to access UAPP, all I hear is a constant tone from the left, and in UAPP, I only hear right. Unplugging the 4.4mm jack, and plugging it back it with music...- thepiper92

iFi audio hip-dac 2: just the tonic for headphone fans
Are there any nicer OTG USB C cables available for the HIP DAC (HIP DAC 2 in my case, but doesn't matter)? The stock black one is so stiff.- thepiper92

USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android
Yah, I'm just lazy in the regard I gather. I manage, rely on mqa picks and such. I found an album I love, An Evening with Silk Sonic...great on my PM3, superb on the FD7. I had no idea how much better music could sound. I'm even finding songs I don't love are enjoyable, simply because it sounds good- thepiper92

Okay. I do wish UAPP would allow you to explore other artists better. The usability is just a tad worse than Tidal, but it is nice to have top quality with my HIP DAC 2 and Fiio FD7- thepiper92

I've been noticing that Tidal access is lacking with UAPP. When I search for an artist, I cannot find compilations and instead find random various artist albums. Anyone else had issues?- thepiper92

I'm patient. I do believe in burn in, at least for DDs. Over the the last few days, I've noticed mids and highs come out more, sub bass bloat is going down- thepiper92

Absolutely love the FD7. Got them after work, brought them back to my work to finish a few things up, and they didn't really leave my ears until I went to bed. Such a velvety smooth texture, quite balanced. A tad of bloat to the bass, but vocal tips helped balance things out for me. Tried...- thepiper92

iFi HIP DAC 2
I bought UAPP, and I can use eq as long as bit perfect isn't enabled. I'm one who would prefer eq over pure MQA sound...I really don't think the increased quality is noticeable, at least for equipment that is not top of the line. My only issue is that the UAPP interface isn't great, and can't...- thepiper92

iFi HIP DAC 2
I've tried multiple apps, even the native EQ settings on my Samsung S21 do nothing. This is when playing through Tidal. When connecting to my phone, tidal asks for permission. It did not do this with the Hidizs S9 Pro, so evidently, the HIP DAC 2 is completely bypassing the android system, yet...- thepiper92
