    Rockbox Xduoo X3

Mine is quite broken tbh. The regular jack output is unusable so when I use it sometimes I have to use a Headphone amp from the line out. Also during disassembly I broke the upward volume rocker, so now I'm using it at fixed volume as well. I know what's wrong with the output, but considering...

    Rockbox Xduoo X3

You will not really notice the difference in brightness. Also bear in mind that the X3's hard plastic screen window scratches from farts, it's far worse than the plexiglass you find on Casio watches, 2 orders of magnitude worse.

Review by 'Gabbbbbbbbbbbb' on item 'Burson Audio Supreme Sound Opamp V6 Vivid'

~ Disclaimer: John Burson -after having seen my posts in the Zishan Z1 thread- contacted me & offered me a Burson opamp of choice to try with the player. I picked the V6 Classic Dual with DIP socket extenders, but due to some logistical difficulties that ended up being a non-option, so I...

New- Zishan Z1 DSD player thread

I've just read your review of the V6 with Z1, I'm a bit surprised by your opinion, I think the Z1 sounds pretty great with the V6, though I don't have the V5i on hand, but compared to the 49720HA that I've been using, it's a very noticeable improvement.

New- Zishan Z1 DSD player thread

Oh no, the Machines attacked my poor old Zishan Z1! (Burson V6 vivid) (The sound is quite surprising to me actually, though I need more listening time to form a coherent opinion..)

The New HIBY R3 II is here. 4.4MM Jack; Improved Sound and Bluetooth.

My definition of entry level is quite different from yours ^. Other than that It's nice to see Hiby being still alive, designing new players, etc.

I've been using mine for the past year with the 49720HA. It's been great. (no dust)

    Rockbox Xduoo X3

I have not had this message. Are you using the same card as before? You need to format the card to fat32, exfat/ntfs does not work. (you may need to put some effort into formatting a big (such as 128gb) card to fat32. It goes without saying that the .rockbox folder is also necessary. I have...

    Rockbox Xduoo X3

This thread has the answer to that question somewhere. You'll need a W7 pc, or W7 virtual machine to fix it. I did this fix years ago, but to me rocbox firmware sounds far better.(outside of my 2 dsd albums)

    Rockbox Xduoo X3

It works fine for me that way. My sd1 slot is also out of commission, my previous expanding battery bent it and I could not fully restore it.

The FiiO X3 2nd gen (ex X3K, X3II) Thread : 192K/24B, CS4398,Native DSD, USB DAC with LO and inline remote

By dead, I meant thoroughly corrupted, but the files were kind of there.

The FiiO X3 2nd gen (ex X3K, X3II) Thread : 192K/24B, CS4398,Native DSD, USB DAC with LO and inline remote

My single biggest gripe with the player is the lack of Rockbox firmware. It's so much better in every way on my Xduuoo X3.. I did not experience this exactly before, though a dead noname sd card has caused some anomalous relay action before, perhaps you could test the player with another sd card?

    ZiShan DSDs HiFi Player Thread

Is this a scam? https://www.aliexpress.com/item/.. Seems rather cheap for €27. edit: Never mind, it's €27000. I cannot fault my brain for failing to see that..

    Rockbox Xduoo X3

So I've had some bad experiences with replacement batteries. My conclusion is that don't even bother with batteries labeled "for X3". Get a cheap 1000mAH battery & enjoy the 6 hours you get with Rockbox.. The X3 has many engineering blunders baked in, but the fact that the original battery (or...

Recommend me a portable headphone amp!

I'm based in the EU, so the classifieds are not very useful for me.

How can I power that from a battery?

Recommend me a portable headphone amp!

Hello! I'm looking for a budget portable headphone amp to drive my HD600s sufficiently well. Something at or below the $100 range, I don't need perfection, just enough power to properly deal with the 500ohm impedance peak these have in the mid bass at normal listening volumes. I've been...

The New HIBY R3 II is here. 4.4MM Jack; Improved Sound and Bluetooth.

I received the battery yesterday. (Aliexpress - BiUBi Factory Store $19 with VAT included) The fit is good, despite the scraped of paper revealing that it's a 4.8mm thick battery, rather than the 4.5mm original. There is a little more space on top, but that's great for my wire on wire...

Replacing the battery in the Fiio X1 (Gen 1)

I was wondering what's the point of the 4pin connector... Anyways thanks for this, I'm about to attempt something similar with my Fiio X3ii & you just confirmed that I can almost certainly connect the the two red wires & the black ones. Though I plan to solder wire to wire, I'm not brave enough...

    Obscure Chinese DAPs

I received the Benjie M6 today. The UI is a lot better than I thought it would be & it's very snappy. The sound is surprisingly good & the build seems great too. I need to spend more time with it to draw more cool headed conclusions, but I'm not sure if this is really worse than an Xduoo X2...

    Zishan Z4 - DAP with Dual DAC ES9038Q2M | Dual AMP OPA1622 | USB 32-bit + DSD | Bluetooth LDAC 24-bit | Balanced 2,5/4,4 | LO/PO 3,5mm

Actually I already have the R3, though it's out of commission right now, I have to wait for a new battery pack from China. My question is specifically if the far more powerful Zishan Z4 can match these underpowered entry level daps in sound quality. (let's say using 16ohm dynamic IEMs)

    Zishan Z4 - DAP with Dual DAC ES9038Q2M | Dual AMP OPA1622 | USB 32-bit + DSD | Bluetooth LDAC 24-bit | Balanced 2,5/4,4 | LO/PO 3,5mm

The HD600s are not my only headphones, I have IEMs with balanced cables as well. It's not a priority, but it would be nice if it worked with all my stuff. As far as I know the Z3 is the same as the Z1 in the sense that it has an output impedance of 100ohms, so not very useful for most things...

    Zishan Z4 - DAP with Dual DAC ES9038Q2M | Dual AMP OPA1622 | USB 32-bit + DSD | Bluetooth LDAC 24-bit | Balanced 2,5/4,4 | LO/PO 3,5mm

How bad is the Single Ended PO really? How does it compare with other $100 players, such as the Xduoo X3- X3ii. (in terms of sound quality, not just power) Is it a waste of money to buy this for single ended use, should I just look into amps, or something else instead? (probably not the dsd...

    Zishan Z4 - DAP with Dual DAC ES9038Q2M | Dual AMP OPA1622 | USB 32-bit + DSD | Bluetooth LDAC 24-bit | Balanced 2,5/4,4 | LO/PO 3,5mm

Can this player comfortably drive a pair of HD600s in single ended mode? (like the Z1) Is the plastic back glued on? Is it difficult to remove? Is it true that the Z4 has a low enough output impedance for IEMs?
