MCINTOSH LABS INTRODUCES NEW HEADPHONE AMP MODEL MHA 100
Indeed. I’ve been able to (I think...until it happens again) prevent the disconnect by maximizing the buffer in Audirvana. This was one of the fixes suggested to me by tech support at McIntosh (who were pretty quick in responding to my inquiry). I also turn off most of the services on my...- wemedge

RME ADI-2 DAC Thread
Thanks for the input. I do realize that it is diminishing returns. One of the reasons I’m considering an external dac is that the mcintosh keeps dropping the usb connection. It’s a known issue, probably firmware. Hoping that this will solve it. Nothing else works, including powered usb hubs etc...- wemedge

RME ADI-2 DAC Thread
Thinking of getting the ADI-2 dac to feed into the McIntosh MHA100. If anyone has thoughts regarding this setup, any comments would be appreciated. Thanks!- wemedge

Audeze LCD-2C Classic - Impressions Thread
I find that the LCD2C’s treble can seem a bit rolled off or not-so-rolled off depending on the amp/dac. To me it is somewhat rolled off on my Meridian Prime, but less so on my McIntosh MHA100 (clearer; not muffled but not piercing). But in both (to me) the treble is smooth and not harsh. Very...- wemedge

Show us your Head-Fi station at it's current state. No old pictures please...
Current state of my head-fi station: MHA 100 came in earlier this week, finally opened and set up this weekend. Mostly the tabby monster has taken possession, but she lets me use it when she is not sitting on it. In my other setup, the Median Prime also runs the Vali 2.- wemedge

Schiit Jotunheim Review / Preview - Head-Fi TV
Apologies if this is a silly question- how is the knob-turning feel on the Jotunheim? Is it smooth and heavy (weighted) or light? Am thinking about ordering one. Thanks.- wemedge

Planar magnetic dilemma
Out of the three options that the OP listed, I can only comment on the LCD2C. I am using the Meridian Prime dac/amp (with Prime power supply). Running it on its own and also as a pre-amp into a Schitt Valli 2 with an EH6922 tube. I’ve only had the Audeze for a few days, but am enjoying the...- wemedge

Meridian Prime + Meridian Power supply with Audirvarna (latest version)
Hello all, hope this is the right forum for the question: I recently purchased the Meridian power supply for the Prime amp. I had been running the Prime on its own, with my Macbook Pro (2015) as my source (OS=HighSierra) running the latest version of Audirvana Plus. With the power supply...- wemedge

How Headphones Took Over
Thank you for sharing. I too, prefer to listen to music through headphones. I remember the first time I heard music through headphones- in the 80s on a Sony Walkman through stock headphones- I think it would be hard for the current generation with all the wonderful options available now to...- wemedge

Grado RS1i Impressions thread
New here; lurked and read but just joined a few days ago. Just picked up the RS1i tonight for a good price new; listening to them now (ipod through an Alo National). Mainly jazz (Metheny trio type). Feeling the pain, because I just got a pair of SR225-I a few weeks ago. I also...- wemedge
