I'm I bit of a noob, but I believe it's just that the in ear earphones would be easier to drive than the larger drivers in the full size headphones. Overall I would think the full size headphones would get way louder if driven from an amp.

So as far as Headphones go, 5Hz vs 15Hz, it doesn't really make a difference?

     How much does this affect the impact of bass? If it goes all they way down to 5Hz, wont it have more impact even thought you wont hear it, you will feel it? This of course only applies if the audio source goes down that far. I am pretty new to this and haven't gotten to try many headphones...

Okay, so I think I have a Realtek ALC 887 or something like that. What reasons would a headphone need an amp (amp only, not a sound card or seperate DAC)? 

I think I would just leave the DAC/amp stack on my desk if I were to get one. I think an E11 with the T50RP would be a nice combo for me. Then when I move up to TH600, get a schiit modi/magni if necessary.
