    V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.

I bought a pair of LP2s and ended up returning them after a few weeks to Amazon.  They were just way unbalanced (bass heavy) and just plain didn't sound very defined for me.  MDR7506s or Grado SR80i put them to shame for less money.  Albeit, I appreciated the build quality and cabling on the...

Working out and sweating on your IEMs?

Thank you!  Those are my thoughts exactly.  F it, I bought these IEMs for precisely this sort of activity.  I have my Senns for the office.  And that's what I was thinking about the seal too: keep the seal, and sweat stays out.  But like I said, occasionally I'll feel a drop of sweat creep...

Working out and sweating on your IEMs?

This sounds crazy, but for the last couple weeks I've been working out while wearing my SE-846s.  The manual says to keep them as dry as possible.  During the course of working out, I'll feel a few drops of sweat slide around the tips into my ear.  When I pull them out, the tip will be wet, but...

    GR07 - Tips Thread

BTW, Sony Hybrids fit perfectly, and seem to work better than stock rubber tips due to the body of the tip being a little thicker, providing more adherence to the inside of my ear.

    GR07 - Tips Thread

I tried the Comply T-200  tips on my GR07s...not a good result.  The openings are too  loose on the GR07 shaft.  Every time I'd remove the IEMs from my ear, the foam tips would stay in my ear.  They'd also often just fall off while handling the GR07s.  Is there any size Comply foam tip that is...

    VSONIC GR07 Impressions Thread

I just wanted to say I'm enjoying these much more with appropriately sized Sony hybrid tips.  The stock rubber tips seem too thin, provided not enough springy-ness to stay in my ear properly.

    VSONIC GR07 Impressions Thread

Having problems getting a good fit on my GR-07s with the stock tips. None of them fit well, and I end up having to push them into my ear every few minutes. Strangely my cheap Samsung IEMs that came with my Samsung S4 can stay in all day, and they're one-size-fits-all. So what gives? Is there an...

    VSONIC GR07 Impressions Thread

Just received Bass Edition GR07s in the mail yesterday. Burned in for about 14 hours so far. I've been trying different tips that came packaged with them. First, the default, medium sized black tips. These are the typical size I'd use with other IEMs, but for some reason they were falling out...

Can't get the hang of IEMs!

Thanks. So this cable causes a lot of the thumping and reverberation vs. better cabled IEMs? I feel this cable also lacks flexibility. If the ribbon pulls laterally the wrong way, it'll tend to yank the earbuds out of your ear. Good to know.

Can't get the hang of IEMs!

Currently using Sony MH1C. I see people walking around, on the subway, jogging, etc. with IEMs and I just don't get it. No matter what I do, my earbuds pop out, constantly need adjustment, are uncomfortable, etc. My MH1Cs came with a tube of 4 or 5 different sized rubber plugs, and I've...

Entry Level DAC / Amp - Audioengine D1, FiiO, etc.

Quote:     Supposedly they ARE releasing a DAC/Amp really soon that looks similar to the existing MyDAC.  I can't find any information about it online at all, but my local hifi shop dudes said they demo'd it at the CES convention and are getting it in soon.  The already stock the MyDAC.

Entry Level DAC / Amp - Audioengine D1, FiiO, etc.

There's a DAC/amp coming out in the next week or two by the company Micromega under their "My" line of products.  My usual salesman at my local hifi shop told me it's going to be the best bang for your buck audio product of the year.  He thinks it's going to be about $399.  He's not a typical...

Looking for <$1000 amp/DAC with very specific features

First of all, I'd prefer to get an all-in-one headphone amp/DAC instead of separates.  The Schiit stuff doesn't seem to have the features I want aside from that anyway.   What I need:   -DAC must have USB and either coax or optical S/PDIF input -Must have a line out (RCA) or balanced...

Sennheiser HD800 vs. HD650 (new and old) -- Comparison for those in the market

IMO, Sennheisers aren't nearly as bright and sharp as Grados.  The HD650 also has much more presence in the mids than say, the SR325i or the PS1000.  In my opinion, most Grados are very bass and treble heavy with recessed mids.  They are definitely much more forward than most Senns.

Sennheiser HD800 vs. HD650 (new and old) -- Comparison for those in the market

Quote:     Interesting.  The pads on the older (black version) HD650s were well worn and soft.  The new pair that I ended up buying (white version) has obviously new, stiff pads.  I hadn't heard the theory on the wear in the pads contributing to sonic differences, but I don't doubt it...

Something wrong with me? I don't like the HE-400

I'm with you on this.  It may be our physiology.  I'm a big fan of Grados and Senns, but Hifiman cans have never sounded good to me.  They just sound flat and thin, like you said.

Sennheiser HD800 vs. HD650 (new and old) -- Comparison for those in the market

I've been researching headphones for months now with a budget of $1,500.  I am lucky enough to have a high-end audio store down the road from my house and I have demoed Sennheisers, Denons, AKG, and Grados with multiple sources and amps.  Specifically, I have used a Sonos Connect (16-bit...

Why is the Asus Essence One Muses Edition only available from a few sketchy looking dealers?

I understand that this product came out very recently, but this still confuses me.  The only available retailers are these:  ...
