Hey guys... need some advice
Maybe for mixing, circumaural and under $100.00 canadian? It sure sounds like a job for the hd215s"link. However, I've heard it's kinda lean on the bass though. According to the Equation Audio website, a Mother's Music nearby where I live should have some RP21s in stock. I'll post back...- Gaughtfried

How exactly does one become "fatigued" listening to music?
I usually get fatigued by overly fast headphones. I'm pretty sure the way they clamp over my head (too much pressure, pressing uncomfortable points) also affects how long I can listen.- Gaughtfried

My Recent Sennheiser HD-555 Sucks big time .....
Even though I myself am shying away from bass as of late, I'd recommend the K81DJs as a possible replacement to the HD555s. Even though it's kinda out style, I still think they're pretty versatile and durable little headphones. Beware of the deathgrip though. *edit* The cracks and pops may...- Gaughtfried

K81DJ replacement?
Ahoy folks, it's been awhile since I've posted here. Anyway I'm currently looking for a replacement for my K81DJs. I love the way they sound, foam pads in, and am looking for something that won't blast my eardrums as bad as a supra-aural headphone would (it's still a VERY nice headphone, but...- Gaughtfried

X-Fi causing 595s to clip/pop?
This has actually happened to me once or twice before and in each case it was due to the microphone settings. I either turn it off, or disable the decible boost in the volume control menu.- Gaughtfried

$8 Headphones strongly resemble Audio Technicas(PAINTED MY GRILLS BLACK!)
I tore the paper around the drivers off my Sr660s. I like how it opened it up and brought the tasty midrange forward, but I'm wondering...does that paper actually serve a purpose other than keeping outside sound from coming in and leaking out? I certainly hope I didn't nerf up this pair.- Gaughtfried

I just took out the foam disks from my K81DJs and put them into the Accuras. It definitely changed the sound signature alot (tamed the highs, more bass, left the midrange alone though) and I prefer it this way. I think I'll have a fun time playing with these headphones.- Gaughtfried

$8 Headphones strongly resemble Audio Technicas(PAINTED MY GRILLS BLACK!)
I just grabbed a pair of these at my local Superstore. Long story short, I'm quite surprised. While they definitely don't have the clarity of my K81DJs (compared to them they sound kind somewhat muffled), they are still quite a steal at $20 Canadian. Hmm... I think I'll try gaming with these...- Gaughtfried

No option for the Wii? Regardless, it'll probably be another weekend. I'll probably try to mooch off someone for my wii fix.- Gaughtfried

video games new and improved with poll-ness
I play mainly older games like Fallouts 1&2, Unreal Tournament 1999, the half life anthology... Anyway, I don't spend too much time with them I think.- Gaughtfried

My cat eats cables
My cat used to love to munch on my computer's cables. Then I got into gardening and now he eats my windowside plants. On the upside, he doesn't chew on the cables anymore. Maybe he needs a houseplant to "play" with?- Gaughtfried

So my ears are constantly changing shape
This may have to do with temperature more than anything else. If the tips of the plugs are warmer they might be easier to mold to the ear and visa versa.- Gaughtfried

Headphones for medical transcription and music on the computer
I used to do a heck of alot of transcription back when I worked as a court clerk. When it came to headphones, I usually went with something closed to muffle out ambient noise. The quality on some recordings are horrendously bad and you have to listen very carefully to what the person is saying...- Gaughtfried

In need of headphones for gaming/music
If it's that quiet, then yeah, the normal sound coming out of the drivers should drown it out. If isolation is not required then I see no reason why you shouldn't go with an open headphone.- Gaughtfried

In need of headphones for gaming/music
When it comes to detail, or detail as it's entailed in games, it's way better to go with something of a closed nature. An open design lets sound in and that can mask very subtle sounds. I've volt-modded all the fans on my computer to 7v and I still find it too loud to use an open headphone...- Gaughtfried

In need of headphones for gaming/music
The K701 is pretty hard drive unamped and it's something you may have to take into consideration. Same with the DT880. From what I've read the HD555/595 have a pretty comparable soundstage to the A500/A900. The only real difference between the two being that the previous is open, the latter...- Gaughtfried

Recommended Earcup Covers for a pair of Sennheiser HD 595's ?
I suppose you could order a pair of HD515 pads. They're covered with fabric, not velour, but are a little bit deeper. Or you can try this nifty little modification:link- Gaughtfried
