Perfect round holes through metal, How?

Twisted Pear Buffalo Sabre DAC
It took me 6 months to get around to finishing this. It sounds great. I just need to figure out why the Toslink module isn't working and why the DAC doesn't seem to sync up properly with my DVD player (the lock LED comes on and play music, but I get crackling until I toggle the OTTO which seems...- kklee

a nod to someone who has served us well
Alex, You brought us a lot of enjoyment with your hard work, so you should enjoy some fruit from your labours. Besides that, with the Eagle upgrade, I want to see more amp designs I can build- kklee

Thank you HeadRoom!
I just wanted to say thanks for the fast warranty replacement of my Gigabag. Topnotch service! The only downside was UPS collecting taxes on the declared value of a warranty exchange item- kklee

Question about chassis grounding and paint
If all the panels are coated, you'll need to scrape off some of the coating where the panels touch together to ensure that they'll conduct. I've had to do this with other rack style cases before. After you re-assemble the chassis, just use a DMM to ensure that the entire case has continuity...- kklee

Plitron Transformers
Plitron's head office is in Canada, they happen to have a factory in China. Take a look at their Contacts page. The regular power toroids I bought from Plitron still caused hum problems. A shielded toroid would be more along the lines of what you're looking for if you're trying to minimize...- kklee

Mistakes you made with your β22 or σ22
1. Don't mount the power supply transformer in the β22 chassis, you'll end wasting weeks (and $$$) trying to resolve transformer hum and then end up moving it to an external chassis (and end up with lots of extra perforations in the bottom of the amp chassis). 2. Don't put a power switch on...- kklee

I hadn't retested the new HV PS with all my headphones, but my modded prototype amp seems to be fine with Grado SR-225's, HD-600's and ATH-W1000's. I get a little bit of hiss at max volume, with a DAC connected. The only headphones that exhibited hiss were Shure SE530's, which is expected due...- kklee

Anything wrong with using speakon for B22 dc power ?
I used the Powercon connectors for my Sigma22 to Beta22 connection. I used a four conductor cable but just tied two of the conductors together at the connectors for ground. Yes, make sure power is off before disconnecting/reconnecting the DC to the amp. I blew my Sigma22 out once doing it...- kklee

Wow! My stupidity never ceases to amaze me... Thought my Mini3 was dead
Had one of those moments this morning! I threw all of the requisite components into the coffee maker this morning and flipped the ON switch. Only to come back a few minutes later and find that the power cord wasn't plugged in. I needed a coffee to wake up enough to make a coffee- kklee

Kits for a portable amp.
I finally finished building mine today, it sounds great. Thanks again to Dr. Meier I did the Alps Frankenpot surgery, which took a little fiddling (at one point the spring and little rocker piece shot out and nailed me in the face, fortunately, I wear glasses). Did anybody ever get around...- kklee
