    Beyerdynamic Aventho Wireless

For my personnal taste, I prefer the Aventho. I don't know if it's the Tesla driver, but from what I recall, I was a little disapointed by the Lagoon... only when compared to the Aventho, that is. Lagoon beats almost anything for sound quality in the NC headphones departement. NC is pretty...

    Beyerdynamic Aventho Wireless

Just to follow up to my experience, I'm glad to inform you all that the Beyerdynamic rep, after receiving the Aventhos from his service partner, gladly offer me a replacement of an equal value (I chose the new Lagoon 'cause I don't want to take another chance with the Aventhos) and a loaner...

    Beyerdynamic Aventho Wireless

Unfortunately, USB cable wasn't the problem. They charged perfectly the day before, and battery was fully charged. It's really when I tried to reactivate the voice prompt... you know, this exact moment when you know something went wrong! I probably deactivated the power/Bluetooth module. But if...

    Beyerdynamic Aventho Wireless

Searching help here... I bought a used Aventho Wireless over a national ad site here in Canada (Canuck Audio Mart). I received the headphones on Monday. Sound quality is very solid, as are the comfort and build quality. I even tried the MIY App thing... and removed it not long after (I'm 37...

    Bowers & Wilkins P5 Series 2

I just want anyone here to confirm that I'm not stupid. Some days ago, I've got a revelation. I explain... I've always been disliking the sound of my P5's, founding it too dark, and way too bass-heavy. I was tempted more than once to cut the leather on the pads to let go more highs. But...

    Sony MDR-1000X

Don't forget tho that Sony won the HD format war, with its Bluray rapidly detroning the HD DVD.   I salute Sony in this regard, with all the tech they pushes/pushed, they sure got some over the time. Who knows, maybe LDAC is a future-winner!

I seriously thought that you would've spent more money than that. Good thing you gave them a try. I have a DragonFly 1.2 and was looking at both the new Black and Red. Now I must go test them after what you've experienced. Thanks for the feedback!

You don't actually loose any sound quality when off, that's how they're tuned. Comparison to Bose is really accurate: you can't achieve to get a good sound out of QC25 amped with anything you want (even your NAD rig) if you don't power them on. The exact same thing is valid for 1000x...

Thanks for your input on Z7. I must have missed your CAM ad for your Z7, since I too have an account there (Pass47), but for less than a year. I would love to demo them, but I'd need to go to Montréal, cause no one near seems to have them. Will search online for a retailer.

I'm a little late on this thread's recent twist, and I don't know if this came out but, the Sony/Qualcomm kinda debate is really easy to understand. If you're LG, Samsung, Moto, HTC, even Apple, you see Sony as a competitor, and don't want to make any kind of publicity for them, directly or...

If you want bass, then try them wired, NC on, and listen to some Yosi Horikawa (Wandering)... A lot of my Tidal account fee is going to this artist lately!

You can use the 1000x with power on and with NC off (wired or wireless), and still get a better sound quality (overall) than with power off. Shortly, DSP is engaged ASA you turn on the headphone.   Listening while wired just get more information to the headphone/DSP to process, so that...

I knew my MBA doesn't support LDAC, but I just found that it doesn't use AptX too . So I got the same result as your Surface Pro 3, 8/10. With what you said, now I NEED a Sony DAP!   What LDAC or AptX gear do you use your 1000x with?

Tonight I tested the 1000x with my Aune X1s, listening to Tidal's Master album Brothers from The Black Keys.   En résumé : Wired to Aune, power off : sound is anemic, less airy (for what a closed-back portable hp could be!), kinda congested. 6/10 IMO Wired to Aune, power on : sound is way...

That's a good wrapup, thanks man. Look like I'll need to continue testing them. I have a Dragonfly 1.2, so I will test/compare the wired+power on vs. wired+power off, and then compare the 2 vs. wired in my Aune X1s (again, on and off). I'll give my 1000x a run with the Aune (who can put out more...

I think it's more the cable that makes a difference, instead of dac/amp. I get better sound wired in my Samsung GS7 than Bluetoothed. Better sound wired in my Mac than Bluetoothed, etc. Don't forget that LDAC is still a Bluetooth way to transmit data. Even if it get more , the wired connection...

Maybe it's because the one included is great: silver-plated OFC cable isn't that bad ;)   But usually, yes, the cable can make a big difference. Just try some "real" high end (like LCD series) with stock cable vs. anything else. You'll realize the difference almost instantly.   It's good to...

Staff in-store are the worst people to discuss a product problem/defectuosity, since they want to keep a good sale number (sale vs. return).   In this case, I'd rather write directly to Sony. They will try to accommodate you. And if they admit the fault is their, I wouldn't be surprised if...
