SPL Phonitor X / Phonitor E impressions and Discussion thread
I pulled the plug from the socket without muting the amp. I knew better than to do this but I was kind of mentally impaired.... if you know what I mean. Two minutes later the amp just fizzled out.- Jetblack08

SPL Phonitor X / Phonitor E impressions and Discussion thread
I was kind of impaired if you know what I mean, listening to music when I noticed my headphone cord tangled. Without thinking I pulled the headphone jack out of the Phonitor without muting or turning off the amp. I knew better than to do this but, as i said, I was impaired. Perhaps one minute...- Jetblack08

Be careful. I recently blew one of the drivers on Susvara using 3V on the Qutest. My amp was the Wells Audio Milo.- Jetblack08

I have the Qutest dac and the Phonitor X. I also have the Wells Audio Milo. The Qutest and the Phonitor was my favorite pairing before I pulled the headphone jack out before muting the Phonitor.- Jetblack08

What repair shop did you send your Phonitor? I mistakenly pulled the headphone jack out of the Phonitor and blew it out. Not only that, I also blew a driver in my Susvara recently. Really bad fortune lately.- Jetblack08

Question… are there more than one driver updates for the Qutest or just one? If more than one, could someone post the links to others?- Jetblack08

I was really burning to get the Dave but I may stick with the Qutest. Playing music in Hi-Rez is where the magic is.- Jetblack08

Chord Electronics Qutest DAC - Official Thread
I was considering getting a Dave but since I started playing 24bit 192kHz music through the Qutest I am no longer in a hurry. Perhaps an M scaler and call it a day.- Jetblack08

Favorite streaming platform for highest quality sound?
Every streaming service has pros and cons it seems. I used Spotify for the longest as they had artist I like that were exclusive to them. I changed to Tidal when I craved higher resolution. One day I saw a video on Youtube where audiophiles were asked which streaming service they preferred and...- Jetblack08

Songs that make your headphone WOOOOOW!!!
Recently went from 16-bit 44.1 kHz to 24-bit 96kHz on my Chord Qutest and wow… what a difference it makes. Listening to Qobuz this way, holographic and immersive. I can’t even imagine how much better a M scaler would be. Anyone that is into 70s r&b and funk should really check out the...- Jetblack08

Your greatest audio experience..
If you haven't already, check out the Commodores library, specifically, "Natural High" and "Commodores X" (ten). Also any artist affiliated with Quincy Jones.... "Brothers Johnson", Minnie Ripperton etc. If you are like me, you realize how detailed and beautiful these artist are recorded.- Jetblack08

HIFIMAN Arya - Arya Stealth - Arya Organic :: Impressions Thread
I can respect this sentiment. My regular listening rotates 4 headphones.... Arya v2, HE6se, Heddphone, and Susvara and because I listen to these so much I was compelled to respond to your other post. Didn't mean to piss on anyone's parade. As I have said the Arya V2 are great and should be...- Jetblack08

HIFIMAN Arya - Arya Stealth - Arya Organic :: Impressions Thread
Susvara is a much more dynamic headphone, much more natural sounding, bass more present, cymbals more shimmer. Details easier to hear… almost information overload. The Arya wins in soundstage only.- Jetblack08

HEDD Announces HEDDphone With AMT Technology
Has anyone found that the bass on the Heddphone sounds better when you break the seal on your ears? I read somewhere the bass on the Abyss 1266 has better bass when you break the seal on your ears. Am I tripping? Can anyone confirm?- Jetblack08

HIFIMAN Arya - Arya Stealth - Arya Organic :: Impressions Thread
I have to respectfully disagree with this statement. I currently own the Arya v2 as well the Susvara and HE6se. The Aryas had made me into a soundstage freak and I didn't hear the magic of the Susvaras right away. I purchased the Phonitor X amp and later the Chord Qutest and then I was ready to...- Jetblack08

HiFiMan Susvara
The Susvara pairs beautifully with the Milo via the Chord Qutest dac. By comparison my PhonitorX sounds analytical and clinical... not saying that is a bad thing. The Milo is more musical and organic. Really interesting to listen to a well recorded track and compare the amps.- Jetblack08

Your greatest audio experience..
I spent the summer of 1979 at my grandparents home and they had a old component stereo with a 8-track player. It went largely ignored until one day I found a pair of headphones under the couch. The headphones had a short in the wires and you could only hear out of one earcup. I kept messing with...- Jetblack08
