End of December and still no luck buying the ultrasuede pads on a standalone basis

I'd loosely label the Goldring DR150 as a knockoff of a Sennheiser, maybe an HD558 lookalike. Got it for $89 and think it's a fun set of cans at that price. Thanks for the input on the Fostex. I just pulled the trigger and ordered the Elear. Hope it arrives before Thanksgiving!

Agree with Koolpep. HDP will enhance the sound a lot, connected via USB or otherwise, playing FLAC or not.

Suggest HiFiMAN EF2A with Mullard tubes (swap). Under $200 total; Sounds great, after a bit of breaking in, with lots of HP's.

I got the Sig DJ's and hated them at first. I'd say break-in greatly improved the sound after 100-150 hours. Now they are a favorite. Great sound, easy to drive, comfortable enough. Bass, highs, soundstage, clarity and imaging all improve noticeably (at least that is what I heard). Enjoy!

Some models - yes Other models - no   The most pronounced improvement I've experienced was on a pair of AKG-702's. Second most change was Ultrasone DJ1 Pro.   On many models I hear no change at all.   $0.02
