I used to run quite a bit w/ my superfi 5's. The flip side mod helps but regardless of that when you start sweating the rubber flanges do slip out slightly. I have some silicone custom molded tips that slip also. The foamies stay in best.

Qables has a "budget" ipod IC for $35 plus shipping. To my location shipping was $4.42. They are a well respected here but I've never heard their products. Maybe this is another option for you.

I think what you are looking for is a sound level attenuator. Male plug on one end, female on the other. It will add resistance to your set up. I think radio shak's got them.

Westone um-1's isolate real well, and also fit well (and comfortably) under motorcycle helmets.

Thanks for your reply. I've wondered about these DIY customs for a while. I like the sound of my super fi's but found myself pushing them back in under many situations. I'll give them a try and post my impressions....just hope it won't take 41 days.

Great review. Do they protude out of your ear farther now than before you had 'em modded? I can just barely get my fs modded superfi 5's under my helmets. I don't think I would try this if they stuck out farther with the custom tips.

great idea. they fit much more comfortably under my motorcycle helmet. i would assume the same for under hats/beanies.

yeah, I should have added the etys with the westone and superfis for similar priced iems....I suppose the sennheiser iem (cx300 I think) should be mentioned as an option as well.

Well I see your price range has increased if your considering the e4c . I would recomend if you buy another pair of iems, make sure you do so from a retailer/etailer with a good return policy like earphonesolutions.com. This way you'll only be out shipping if you're unhappy with look/fit/sound.

are the sr60's worth the extra cash? [here in singapore the sr60 costs about S$120 while the ksc75's go for about S$50] ouch.....there is no way I'd pay $50 for Koss KSC75. I would have a difficult but more palatable time paying $120 for Grado SR60.
