My SR325is have bowls with a bit of added foam slipped under them to cover the mesh. Its physically more comfortable and I can listen for hours. Without it my ears will hurt and I cant listen more than an hour without retiring.

Im a fan of the Neutrik NTP3RC right angle connector. Relatively small and good quality. For cable I suggest mini canare starquad L-4E5C. Just strip off the shielding down to where you want the "Y" and take the twisted pairs up to the earpieces and cover them with some kinda tech-flex.

my girlfriend tends to be more forgiving when i spend money for DIY gear rather than on plain retail stuff. She still thinks the whole thing is a bit crazy though
