AudioQuest NightHawk Impressions and Discussion Thread
It looks like my nagging is starting to bother some people, so I'll try to keep it short. Why I bother with the nighthawk? Because I love everything about them, except for the sibilance, or should I call it edgyness, that I find unpleasant. By now I have found an eq setting that solves most of...- retwisted

AudioQuest NightHawk Impressions and Discussion Thread
Yeah that's what I mean. On the HD600 there is more mids in comparison to bass, when you compare it with the Nighthawks. And since I level my volume according to the volume of the mids, I generally listen a bit louder on the nighthawks. And that together with the rougher treble makes the...- retwisted

AudioQuest NightHawk Impressions and Discussion Thread
Oh, and now you talk about biocellulose drivers, I remember the IEM Vsonic gr07 also having complaints about sibilance, and they also seem to use biocellulose drivers. Maybe it is indeed as you say, ColorJones. Now, I am a bit dissapointed. I totally love the nighthawks for everythng except the...- retwisted

AudioQuest NightHawk Impressions and Discussion Thread
I always listen on high volume. I really like to have the vocals on a good volume, and tend to level my volume based on that. For the nighthawks, this means cranking it up even more compared to the hd600, because the mids are a more subdued back compared to the bass and treble. And because of...- retwisted

AudioQuest NightHawk Impressions and Discussion Thread
Hi, I got the Nighthawks, and find them great. Coming from the Hd600 and reading comments, I expected the nighthawks to sound alot more bassy and bit more muffled, with a smoother treble. But doesn't seem te be the case at all. In my opinion, they sound a bit more clear than the hd600, and the...- retwisted

Review of Audioquest JitterBug - USB Data & Power Noise Filter.
I've been using the jitterbug for a long time now with the dragonfly 1.2, and I've been satisfied with it when I plug my IEMs, and some headphones in it. The sound gets a bit cleaner with the jitterbug. However, my HD600 requires a bit more power. The bass sounds a bit loose directly from the...- retwisted

Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread
The hd600 just arrived, and wow, they sound really great. They got the best treble of all headphones I've ever tried. Headphones like the philips x2 had a really sibilant treble for me, but the treble on these are really smooth, sibilance free, while remaining detailed. The mids sound really...- retwisted

Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread
Hi, I'm thinking of getting a hd600 or hd650. Which one would be better for vocals, mostly female? Or are they mostly the same in that aspect?- retwisted

Hifiman IEM's: RE-400 and RE-600
Actually, looking at my experience with the RE-400, I would probably get the normal RE-600 version. Their 3.5mm connector is really bad. That was the source of all the channel cutting problem I had with the RE-400. I would probably only have to replace that adapter when a channel cuts, instead...- retwisted

Hifiman IEM's: RE-400 and RE-600
The RE-600 for 200$ looks tempting, but I don't think it is worth it if the build quality is as bad as the RE-400. The RE-400 build quality was extremely bad. One channel kept cutting off. Sometimes it took a week, sometimes a month or two. Luckily the store I bought it from replaced it like 4...- retwisted

Philips Fidelio L2
I just got the L2, but I'm having issues with the comfort. I normally use the MA900 (very low clamping force), so the clamping force of the L2 is kinda brutal for me. I understand that this is to be expected for portables. I'm thinking of sending them back, but I really love the sound of them...- retwisted

Apple EarPods Thread
These earpods sound good for the price. A balanced, clear and very spacious sound coming from them. The sound reminds me of open headphones, which I like very much. But the lack of subbase is really bad for some songs I listen to. Does someone know in ears with sound like these? Something with...- retwisted

Philips Fidelio S1 and S2 - New IEMs with semi-closed back
For people that don't know, I find that they can be easily worn over ear if you switch the left and right side. Atleast, it works for me.- retwisted

Philips Fidelio L2
Thanks, I will probably be using my ipod touch 4g. How about the comfort, and the pressure on the head? I have only tried on-ear headphones, but the fact that they do not cover my whole ears, and put alot of pressure on my head was extremely uncomfortable. I couldn't wear them for more than 15...- retwisted

Philips Fidelio L2
Hi, I'm planning to buy my first headphone for home use. I have the Hifiman RE-400 iems and I really like their sound signature, so Hifiman headphones are a possiblity. However, they are quite expensive here and the build quality of the RE-400s was very bad (had to send back 3 times...- retwisted
