Haven't been in this thread for more than 1 - 2 months, (50 or so pages :p). How are things going with the firmware :)?

I really don't have any issue with the button layout, once I changed from the silicon casing to a custom leather one. Having the buttons exposed makes it rather easy to navigate. But with them hidden? Not so much.

Only downside I've found myself is that the X3 tends to get hot after prolonged use when it is stored in the leather case and then in a pocket or similar.

I too have the same combo, but there is no advantage to setting the gain any higher, it would just make the volume very high.

If one were to use a higher gain setting with a somewhat sensitive can, would it somehow be possible to change the max volume to a lower number? (I really like the max volume feature :)).

Any benefit of having a consistent folder structure and fixing that with mp3 tagger at the same time? If so, how? Artist then another folder with Album?

How are they supposed to be tagged? What info should be there? Names? Tags? Folders?

It has only happened to me once, but since then I've come to include a pointy thing in my kit so that I always can reset the X3 if need be. I don't want to be without music when commuting again :p.

Oh gosh, the stock coolers are horrible things. I have a massive NH-D14 1kg+ cooler, but the closed-loop water coolers have really improved in the last years, not sure how the stock fans are on the H80 though

Really worth noting though, if you are gaming and have a noisy computer, you'll hear that noise all the time, it all goes through. Personally I recently switched all my fans in the computercase to new Noctua ones in an attempt to try to reduce noise level from the computer :p.

There should be no way the DT990 sounds the same amped as unamped, mine (250Ω, Pro) sure doesn't, or do you have the 32Ω version? (Could be why, I haven't tried it so I don't know for sure).
