glad I could help! well the differences, as usual, are not huge but I do feel the more closed ones (more material in front of the drivers) have a more congested imaging, which I suppose makes sense as the sounds reflects inwards. Now I am going to attempt to drill the insides of one of the cups...

well after having read and followed 181 posts on this thread, and pretty much being convinced that I would be one of the happy owners of the 1060 after they came back on stock, I disappointedly have to say that I won't be getting one :( I could live with the QC issues as I don't really mind...

Noticed that too. I've been saving for a pair of he 400S and getting real psyched about having my first planars besides upgrading from dt 990 250 Ohm, and now this happens... Kind of a mix of anticlimax and gobsmacked.
