Monolith M1060C Closed Back Planar Headphones impressions
they look brilliant! Pehaps spray on a bit of mat (or glossy) varnish on them just for that extra kick? Pretty much completely open like that, isn't it? As an extra protection step against dust, mostly, consider getting some women's stockings on the inside of the cup :) have fun shopping for...- x y r

Monolith M1060C Closed Back Planar Headphones impressions
glad I could help! well the differences, as usual, are not huge but I do feel the more closed ones (more material in front of the drivers) have a more congested imaging, which I suppose makes sense as the sounds reflects inwards. Now I am going to attempt to drill the insides of one of the cups...- x y r

thanks!! I assumed as much but then studio monitors got me thinking... would you recommend 105mm or 110mm for the M1060Cs? consider I just got them and I have only now started looking into the mods (besides having already opened them, of course)- x y r

Monolith M1060C Closed Back Planar Headphones impressions
thanks a lot my man! this is exactly what I was looking for! I can see better what happens to the ori 2k bump (due to being closed) I feel there was too much mid/upper base bleeding into the voices (female voices in general were too bassy - not very realistic) Felt there were a good bit of...- x y r

Monolith M1060C Closed Back Planar Headphones impressions
Hi everyone, After looking at every picture and graph here, I was wondering if someone had a graph of the 1060C open mod without EQ? Like just open and no further mods? I'm trying my hand at EQing them myself and am quite happy so far but not being an ear EQ expert, eyes on would help a lot!- x y r

Hi WHO23 Would you by any chance still have a graph of the 1060C open mod without EQ? Like just open and no further mods? I'm trying my hand at EQing them myself and am quite happy so far but not being an ear EQ expert, eyes on would help a lot!- x y r

Monoprice Monolith M1060 and M560 Planar Headphones
well after having read and followed 181 posts on this thread, and pretty much being convinced that I would be one of the happy owners of the 1060 after they came back on stock, I disappointedly have to say that I won't be getting one :( I could live with the QC issues as I don't really mind...- x y r

Monoprice Monolith M1060 and M560 Planar Headphones
Appreciate the sympathy. I guess they'd still be well worth the investment as so many seem to be implying that the 1060s hit above their weight and I would be probably buying the focus pads for the 400s anyways- x y r

Noticed that too. I've been saving for a pair of he 400S and getting real psyched about having my first planars besides upgrading from dt 990 250 Ohm, and now this happens... Kind of a mix of anticlimax and gobsmacked.- x y r

there's a 25% coupon discount on purchases above 300$ at monoprice site now, but of course the 1060 are 299.... ANND I'm being asked 60$ for shipping fees to Italy. Not fair :(- x y r
