Best headphone under 150
Quote: I agree with this. I'm sorry if I scared the OP with talks of burn-in etc. You'll enjoy them right out of the box, but they'll get really impressive as they go! I think you won't be disappointed.- thecomprachico

Best headphone under 150
Quote: I have a FiiO E10, but I bought mine before I could anticipate I'd be investing in a better headphone anytime soon. Not that it's a bad amp + DAC combo, I think it's really good for the price, but it does have its flaws. For one, the effective resolution is 16.2 bits as opposed to...- thecomprachico

Best headphone under 150
Oh, I see they've convinced you to stay off the DBA-02 MKII. ... Too bad, because they're excellent IEMs though may just be a little beyond your initial budget. I've never checked out the Cosmic Ears Flex though, and reading reviews they seem to be really interesting (custom in-ears at this...- thecomprachico

Roll call: Indians staying in India, interested in high end headphones/IEMS
Thought I'd say hello to everyone here. I'm a mere high school student from Delhi, and right now I don't own much at all. :P I just got my first pair of 'good' headphones yesterday (the KRK KNS-8400), which I run with a FiiO E10. I've previously owned low-end headphones like the RX700...- thecomprachico

Best headphone under 150
Quote: I've been listening to a lot of stuff by 'The Crystal Method' and Trent Reznor (mainly 'Ghosts' and his OSTs for 'The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo' and 'The Social Network'), some dubstep, a lot of progressive/jazz metal/rock (read Aghora, Gordian Knot, Cynic, Tool, et cetera), and a...- thecomprachico

Best headphone under 150
Quote: Yeah, it seems like it. I've had roughly 20 hours of burn in and the sound has changed noticeably about 2 times already. The 5-6 hour mark was the most dramatic, with the bass coming out of no where. Definitely not bass-light to me, like some other reviews suggest.- thecomprachico

Best headphone under 150
Quote: I was just lucky. Got a gift card on Amazon and hence the deal just cost me $43, including international shipping + 26%-ish customs (import taxes). I believe they were going for 113$ on Amazon a week ago (including shipping within the US). I'd say that's a killer deal.- thecomprachico

UE triple fi10 or???
I would recommend you try out Fischer Audio's DBA-02 MkII as well. They're crisp, detailed, aggressive with clear, precise bass and sparkly higher-frequencies-- which can be great or not depending on the kind of metal you listen to (for example stoner metal won't benefit as much from an...- thecomprachico

Best headphone under 150
Quote: I think the HM5s and the KNS-8400 both beat the M50s, if only marginally. All comes down to what sound signature you prefer. The KNS-8400 have a more laid-back mid-bass but more forward highs and better bass extension (more sub-bass) than the M50s. The M50s are warmer, with better...- thecomprachico

Best headphone under 150
In addition to the HM5, I'd also recommend you check out the KRK KNS-8400. They are less talked about, but I'd say they're just as good. I've only had them for about 10-ish hours now, but they seem to be champs for the price. The bass may seem a little lackadaisical initially, but after 5-6...- thecomprachico
