What amp are you using for the Phi? I know this has been talked about repeatedly on this thread, but I would be interested in hearing what amplification folks are using and recommendations. I am currently using the Rogue headphone amp. My guess is there is better out there. Thanks!

Has anyone tried the Abyss with a speaker amp (I might have missed a previous post)? Certainly works for other hard to drive headphones like HE6 and HEK, but perhaps too much for the Abyss. Thanks!

I apologize for asking a question that I am sure has previously been addressed, but there are so many posts, I haven't been able to go through them all.  I am thinking about getting a 250w Krell speaker amp.  Can I drive my HE6's directly from the amp without adding any resistors if I am careful...

I am using the stock 6N1P tube.  Can someone offer a recommendation for an upgrade.  I looked on ebay for a cyroset 6N1P without much luck and I am not sure how to purchase this tube or if it is different from the stock tube. Thanks for your help!

Thanks for your help. I am using a Pass XA30.5 currently, thinking of upgrading to the 30.8.  The Pass is awesome with the HE6s.

2 other questions: Would a 30 watt speaker amp be too much for the 560, or would one need an adapter like the one from Bluecircle to use safely. Are the cables for the He6 and 560 interchangeable ? Thanks!

Sounds like I will not be missing out if I stick with my He6 powered by a great speaker amp vs the 560's? Any recent comparisons with LCD -X closed and open? Thanks

Not yet, Awaiting the arrival of my Stratus, but this will likely not have enough juice to drive them adequately and I am planning on using the Stratus with my HD800s.  I would love to step up to the 30.8, but that is unfortunately not in the budget!

The F3 sounded a little thin to me, and I felt there was some lack of bass.  Great detail.  I don't listen very loud and don't push things to extremes, so never had a problem with clipping. Part of the problem could have been that my ARC Ref 5 preamp has a recommended minimum output impedence...

The same information I gleaned.  I spoke with Calvin at Audio Research and the fact that the preamp has a recommended minimum output impedence of 20K and the F3 has an input impedence of 10K means I might lose some sound quality, particularly dynamics, and rolled off high end.  I will listen...
