Check out the atomic floyd line up. They have in my opinion by far the nicest design of any IEMs. They apparently sound pretty good as well.

I agree that the m50s are initially quite disappointing. They sounded a bit harsh and not as clear as i hoped right out of the box. After almost 100 hours of burn in, they have improved drastically.
